Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 2072

Fortunately, Callum had only fainted from shock and was not physically hurt. Even so, the concern was whether such a terrifying event at such a young age would leave him with lasting psychological trauma.

The doctor had prescribed an IV drip, and once Callum woke up, he could be discharged as usual.

Even though it was late at night, Mildred still came to the hospital.

Upon entering the room, she saw Nathaniel sitting by Callum's bed, his eyes lifeless and dazed, seemingly lost in his thoughts.

"You've been up all day. You should go home and rest. I'll stay with Callum," Mildred said.

Nathaniel snapped out of his trance.

"I'm fine. You're not in the best health either, so don't stay up late. Callum is alright. I can stay with him."

Mildred sighed and sat beside the bed.

"I want to stay with Callum. He must be scared after such a horrible experience."

Callum remained unconscious, and Mildred gently held his hand, her eyes red as she quietly wiped away her tears.

"Grandma," Nathaniel called out softly.

He hesitated before asking, "Do you know everything that happened today?"

"Yes. I know the whole story. Poor Callum, he's only five and has to go through such hardship…"

Nathaniel lowered his head, overwhelmed with guilt.

"It's my fault. You can scold me if you want."

Mildred shook her head, her own heart aching as she looked at him.

"How could I blame you? It was a tough decision, and someone was bound to get hurt no matter who you chose. Even I wouldn't have been able to make a calm choice in that situation. Besides, you saved both children. You did your best. There's no need for you to feel guilty."

Nathaniel was clearly affected by the matter, feeling downcast.

Mildred tried to comfort him. "I understand how difficult your choice was. I think… in time, Callum will understand too."

"That's not acceptable. What if it worsens? You need a doctor to check it."

Nathaniel felt a bit helpless.

To him, it was just a minor injury, something he could handle as he had been through the military.

Yet, to Mildred, he was still a child who needed care.

After all, Nathaniel was her grandson too.

"Do as I say and let the doctor examine you. I'll keep an eye on Callum. I took a nap this afternoon, and I'm not tired at all. You, on the other hand, need to handle the Nicholls Group and support the Nicholls family. You must rest and recover properly."

Reluctantly, Nathaniel agreed and allowed a nurse to take him for a medical check-up.

That night, Callum had a terrifying nightmare.
