The more Troy tried to downplay the situation, the angrier Nathaniel became, and a dark, obsessive thought flickered in his mind.
He stalked toward them with a menacing stride.
"Harbor City sounds like an interesting place with its unique culture. If there's a chance, I'll surely visit."
"To be frank, Harbor City is small and underdeveloped, nestled in the mountainous region with little culture," Mavis replied with a polite smile.
"Ms. Olsen, you're too modest. If someone as beautiful as you come from Harbor City, I'm sure its culture must be worth experiencing," Gavin countered.
Mavis was about to respond when suddenly, heavy footsteps approached.
Before either Mavis or Gavin could react, Nathaniel grabbed Gavin's arm and delivered a powerful punch to his face.
Gavin screamed in pain.
The force was so intense that he was knocked to the ground, unable to rise.
"Nathaniel, stop!" Mavis shouted, trying to intervene, but Nathaniel pulled her aside and pushed her toward Troy.
He glared at Gavin, who was trying to stand up and wipe away the blood trickling from his split lip.
Gavin was baffled and asked, "Sir, we don't even know each other. Why are you—"
Before he could finish his sentence, another punch landed on the other side of Gavin's face.
Gavin tried to fight back, but Nathaniel, trained in combat, quickly overpowered him.
Soon, Gavin was pinned to the ground and brutally beaten.
"Nathaniel! You're insane! Absolutely insane!" Mavis cried out desperately while Troy held her back, preventing her from rushing in and risking getting hurt.
The fight continued for a couple of minutes, with Gavin being relentlessly beaten into the grass.
Ella and several estate staff quickly noticed the commotion and rushed over to intervene.
It took considerable effort to separate the two men.
Gavin's right arm was broken, and he had several other injuries.
This was not a mere fight but a deliberate act of violence!
Ella warned Nathaniel sternly, "Mr. Nicholls, your actions just now have violated the laws of Deltsburg. I'm sorry, but I can't cover for you."
"He was flirting with my wife, so I hit him."
Gavin was bewildered and protested, "I wasn't!'
Then, he turned to Mavis and asked, "You're married? Is he really your husband?"
All eyes in the room turned to Mavis, including Nathaniel's, waiting for her response.
Mavis had not expected Nathaniel to act out because of her.
With their marriage certificate at home and their names clearly listed in the household registry, she could not deny the truth.
With a clear head, she pointed at Nathaniel and started to cry.
"Yes, he is my husband, but he frequently abuses me, even during my pregnancy. I'm trying to get a divorce, but he refuses to sign the papers and continues to torment both me and my baby."
Tears streamed down her face as she looked at the police.
"If his assault charge is confirmed, can I request that you intervene to force him into divorce?"
