They soon arrived at E&S Haven.
Sheena had left Freida with all the necessary instructions before she left.
Hence, when she saw Mavis, Freida immediately approached her and greeted, "Good afternoon, Mr. Nicholls, Ms. Olsen. Mrs. Jenkins has prepared everything you need. Should we get the bodyguards to load them into your car?"
Nathaniel nodded, and Freida directed the bodyguards to start loading the items.
Adora and Asher were playing with Potato in the room, and they were so engrossed that they did not notice Mavis enter.
Mavis quietly walked up behind Adora and covered her eyes, asking, "Guess who?"
Recognizing her voice, Adora beamed.
"Auntie Mae! You're here! Are you taking Asher and me to your place?"
"Yes," Mavis replied, playfully tapping her nose.
On the way back to the Nicholls residence, Adora chatted excitedly, eagerly anticipating the school ceremony the next day.
The atmosphere was cheerful, and even Asher spoke a few words to Nathaniel, but his face was still as serious as ever.
At the Nicholls residence, Gabrielle was already waiting at the door.
She immediately scooped Adora up, planting kisses on her cheeks.
"Adora, I've invited you to stay over many times, but you always refused. Why did you agree so quickly this time? Am I not as good as Auntie Mae?"
Adora hugged her neck and said sweetly, "Auntie Gabrielle, you're important too. Daddy and Mommy have been really busy lately, so Auntie Mae is helping me get ready for school."
"Such a clever little girl," Gabrielle replied with a laugh.
Then, she set Adora down and turned to Nathaniel, saying, "Nate, Grandma is arriving the day after tomorrow. She specifically asked you and Mae to pick her up from the airport."
"Got it," Nathaniel answered before heading out the door.
Having spent much energy playing, Adora yawned as she ate.
"Auntie Mae, I'm so sleepy. I want to go to bed."
Rubbing her eyes, she slowly walked over to Mavis, clutching her hand and leaning against her.
Even Asher began to nod off.
Mavis and Gabrielle each carried a child upstairs and tucked them into bed.
After ensuring they were comfortably settled, Mavis took a picture of the sleeping kids and sent it to Sheena to ease her worries.
…
Later that evening.
Still at the office, Nathaniel received a phone call.
