Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1766

Nathaniel's phone suddenly rang loudly, breaking the eerie silence.

It was Kristen calling.

To avoid any suspicion, Nathaniel closed all the windows tightly, put on his earphones, and calmed himself before answering her call.

"What's the matter?"

"Nate, why did you take so long to answer? Are you busy?" Kristen's voice sounded weak, coughing in between her sentences.

Nathaniel asked with concern, "Are you sick?"

"It has been raining heavily recently. Grandma went out to sea a few days ago and just returned yesterday, seriously injured. I'm taking care of her, but our medical facilities here aren't well-equipped. I'm really worried about her health..."

Kristen's voice trembled, sounding like she was on the verge of tears.

Nathaniel furrowed his brow.

"Don't worry. I'll come over and check on her. I'll also see how your grandma is doing."

"Nate, I know you mean well, but… maybe you shouldn't come. Her condition is stable for now, but you know how stubborn she is. She doesn't like being disturbed by outsiders, so…"

Kristen sounded reluctant.

Nathaniel understood her worries and suggested, "How are things over there right now? I can arrange for medical supplies to be sent to you."

Kristen hesitated before declining Nathaniel's offer, saying, "Nate, don't worry about it. The last time you sent things over, the villagers saw me interacting with your people. They said a lot of hurtful things. I…"

Kristen suddenly choked up, and Nathaniel's frown deepened.

"I'm in Gurenchti. It won't take long if I speed over. Are you sure you don't want me to come see you?"

"No, really. I've contracted a virus recently. Almost everyone here is infected. We all get fevers in the evening. Please don't come over. If I can't hold on, come find me to help deal with my body, okay?"

Kristen's voice was filled with tears, weak and choked up.

Any man hearing it would feel heartbroken, especially hearing how bad her cough was.

Nathaniel fell into silence as he pondered the matter.

As he recalled Kristen's face, which resembled Sheena's, he suddenly looked troubled.

"Nate, why are you in Gurenchti? Is it for some important work?"

"Nate…"

Her voice sounded weak and hoarse.

"Your condition seems to be getting worse. I'm coming over."

"No, no, there's no need. My grandma's health has improved a lot. As long as she's okay, I'm fine. I'm young, I'll manage," Kristen insisted.

"Besides, she has given me two types of medicine. It'll take a few days to see results. You've already helped me so much, and I can't trouble you anymore."

Nathaniel sighed at how understanding Kristen was, and he respected Kristen's decision.

"Okay, if you need anything, just contact me."

"Alright, I got it. I'll hang up now," Kristen replied softly.

After the call ended, Nathaniel sighed again.

Standing by the window, he looked at the distinctly different architectural style outside compared to Froania, silently making a decision.
