It was hard to imagine where the pen might have struck if Tommy had not dodged it in time.
"Mr. Nicholls?" Tommy's face turned pale with fright.
Nathaniel's eyes were cold as he glanced at him, asking coldly, "What is it?"
An inexplicable chill seemed to fill the air in the office.
Tommy gulped anxiously and placed the file on the desk.
"Mr. Nicholls… our people reported that Mrs. Nicholls and Ms. Lawson had their first negotiation with Giorgio today, but it failed."
At the mention of Mavis and Sheena, Nathaniel's anger subsided slightly.
"Go on."
"We also discovered that Giorgio has a shipment heading to Froania by sea. Should we intercept it?"
"Find out what's in that shipment and contact Mr. Jenkins to assist us with the interception," Nathaniel ordered coldly.
"Understood, Mr. Nicholls."
Tommy quickly left the room.
However, Nathaniel was mistaken about one thing.
Although Elliot was not with Sheena, he was not in the country.
He had left everything at the National Investigation Bureau in Lionel's hands.
When Tommy contacted Lionel, he relayed the situation to Elliot.
Elliot understood Nathaniel's intentions and said, "Fully support Nathaniel. Don't call me unless it's urgent."
He was on an international mission, requiring his full attention.
If not for the urgency, he would have accompanied Sheena to Gurenchti.
Froania, evening.
If Sheena found out he had given the children such high-sugar treats without consulting her, she would surely be furious.
As he finished speaking, Adora's face twisted into a frown, and she burst into tears.
Lionel was startled and quickly embraced the little girl, trying to comfort her.
"What's wrong, Adora? Tell me why you're crying."
"I miss Mommy. She's been gone for two days. Why hasn't she come back? And Daddy too… Don't they want me anymore?"
Adora's tears streamed down her cheeks, her long lashes clumped together.
Jacintha shot Lionel a stern glance, clearly displeased.
The children were having a great time with her, yet the moment Lionel returned, Adora burst into tears.
Under Jacintha's warning gaze, Lionel fell silent.
He was baffled. He had not done anything wrong!
