Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1680

After reading a few pages, Mavis gave up.

Nathaniel's books were filled with strange symbols and concepts she could not grasp.

Unwilling to quit, she tried other books, but they seemed like a foreign language to her.

She had never imagined that the reality would be so hard to accept.

Despite knowing their differences, she never realized how big the gap truly was; it was not something a little effort could bridge.

"Maybe… we really are from different worlds…"

Feeling dejected, she hugged the financial book, sinking into silence.

For three days, Mavis stayed home, anxiously waiting for any news from Nathaniel.

Yet, there was none.

She remembered his words and, no matter how worried she was, did not dare to contact him.

Suddenly, there was a knocking on the door, and Gabrielle's voice followed after

"Mae, are you okay? Do you want to go out and clear your mind? I know a fun place. Let me take you there."

Gabrielle was genuinely worried.

For the past three days, besides coming downstairs for meals, Mavis was mostly in her room, not speaking to anyone.

Gabrielle feared she might fall into a deeper depression.

The door creaked open, and Mavis managed a weak smile.

"I'm fine, Gabrielle. I'll go for a walk in a bit. Go ahead and do what you need to."

Seeing her in this state only increased Gabrielle's concern.

"Mae, let me take you out. Sometimes, you just need to get things off your chest."

Gabrielle's eyes were full of worry, and she genuinely treated Mavis like family.

Mavis shook her head.

"Really, I'm fine. I'll go out in a little while."

"Okay, then. I'll have the driver take you. Let me know when you're back, and I'll personally come to get you. No refusals," Gabrielle insisted.

Mavis found the breeze comforting, and when she opened her eyes, she was greeted by lush greenery, giving her a sense of vitality.

It was early fall, and there was still a slight chill in the air.

As they passed by a lake, Mavis heard children laughing by the shore.

Intrigued, she instructed the driver, "Just park here and head back. You don't need to wait for me."

Getting out of the car, Mavis walked toward the lakeside.

Feeling uneasy, the driver kept a watchful eye on her.

Thankfully, Mavis simply sat on the grass, watching the children play.

She found comfort in the scene before her.

Suddenly, a soccer ball hit her leg.

A boy of about six years old hurried over, apologizing profusely.

"I'm sorry, miss. Did I hurt your leg?"
