After two days of boredom in the hospital, the woman began to feel that the rumors were all lies.
People said that Elliot and Sheena were the model couple of Svelton, often displaying their affection publicly.
Yet, it seemed like it was all for show.
Despite her having Sheena's exquisitely beautiful face, Elliot showed little interest in her.
His visits were brief and filled with casual small talk, and he made sure the officers pampered her with luxurious meals.
While his demeanor was gentle, his words soft, there was an undeniable distance, a lack of true intimacy.
In all her days in the hospital, Elliot had not even bought her a new phone, only ensuring her safety with guards at her door, preventing her from going anywhere.
No messages or instructions from her boss could reach her, leaving her uneasy.
"Sigh…"
The woman sighed, resting her chin on her hands as she leaned over the small table on the bed.
A mirror lay before her as she studied her face, lost in thought.
She recalled her mission and the instructions from her boss, and her expression grew increasingly serious.
"What are you thinking about?"
A man's deep yet gentle voice startled her, coming from beside the bed.
Turning her head, she saw Elliot's strikingly handsome face and quickly regained her composure.
"H-Honey, I didn't hear you walking in."
Elliot stared at her face for a long moment, as if to look through her and search for someone else.
He only looked away when he noticed the woman gazing at him in confusion.
He calmly explained, "You were lost in thought and didn't notice me coming in."
The woman smiled sweetly, radiating warmth as she looked at him.
"I was just thinking about you, and here you are."
Elliot sat on the edge of the bed, his expression unchanged.
She continued, "Honey, I should be able to leave the hospital today, right? It's been a week since I've seen Asher and Adora. I'm so anxious. I can't wait to see them."
For the past two days, the doctors had found various reasons to keep her hospitalized, citing high blood sugar, nerve issues, and low blood pressure, refusing to discharge her.
She was getting bored out of her mind being trapped in the ward.
Elliot smiled affectionately, hiding his true feelings.
"I came here today to talk about your discharge. I just spoke with Dr. Tristan, and he said your condition has stabilized. You can go home today."
His jacket was off, and he wore only a white silk shirt with the sleeves rolled up, revealing muscular forearms and the faint blue veins beneath his skin.
Everything about him radiated charm.
His thin lips released a ring of smoke, the swirling haze blurring the gloominess and coldness in his eyes.
His sharp profile and effortless movements exuded regal elegance, and his perfect waistline and physique exuded irresistible allure.
This man was incredibly tempting.
'Sheena' stood outside the glass door, admiring him, falling deeper for Elliot's charm.
An idea solidified in her mind as she smirked. 'What a perfect man! It would be a waste not to have him. Once we're home, I'll make sure to win you over.'
After all, the real Sheena was not returning, and she was the real one now!
She collected herself, pushed open the smoking-room door, and walked toward Elliot, taking the cigarette from his fingers with a playful scold in her voice.
"Honey, you're being naughty. Did you forget you're not supposed to smoke? Asher's health is fragile, and he can't stand the smell of smoke. How are we supposed to see the kids later?"
Elliot looked at her face, identical to Sheena's, and for a moment, he was dazed.
His eyes reddened instantly, and his lashes trembled.
He quickly dug his nails into his palm, forcing the shock and conflicting emotions down.
