Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1423

Mavis immediately set aside her phone and followed his instructions, scratching and massaging him as requested.

Nathaniel felt much better and asked, "Who were you on the phone with?"

"I spoke with the HR at a real estate agency. They interviewed me over the phone and seemed to like my cheerful demeanor. They've asked me to come for an interview tomorrow if I'm available."

Nathaniel's relaxed expression turned into a frown.

He sounded annoyed as he questioned, "I've already said I'll provide you with a salary, a monthly compensation. Why are you still looking for a job?"

"They don't clash with each other," Mavis calmly explained.

"Firstly, when you're back to work at the company, I won't be able to care for you like a servant during those hours. So, finding a job won't interfere with anything. Secondly, once my identity is revealed to the Nicholls family, I might not be well-liked because I'm just your servant. Having a legitimate job will earn me more respect. And besides, our contract doesn't prohibit me from working. I need to realize my own value, right? I can't be freeloading here every day…"

Nathaniel stayed silent.

She indeed had the talent for business.

For every sentence he uttered, she had a handful to reply with.

"You can work, but not in sales. Cancel your interview for tomorrow," Nathaniel stated firmly.

It was not as a suggestion but an order.

Mavis was puzzled. "Why?"

"Sales jobs often involve dinners and social drinking. It's unsafe for a young woman to be out socializing all the time, not to mention the risk of someone slipping something into your drink. Even if you cry a river, it won't help," Nathaniel explained, his tone firm.

"I won't cry," Mavis murmured.

Although she did not argue back, Nathaniel's reasoning made sense.

She needed to be proactive in preventing such situations.

Without giving her a chance to consider, Nathaniel decisively stated, "That's settled. You can look for other job positions, but not in sales."

"This is my concern..." Mavis began, but Nathaniel interrupted her, slightly furrowing his brow.

"In half an hour, there's an important video conference at the company, and I must attend. Help me change into a suit and bring me the laptop," Nathaniel instructed.

Aishah sneered. "You dress up every day, not even wearing a servant uniform. It's obvious you have ill intentions. Don't try to deny it."

Mavis knew they were looking for trouble and did not bother to be courteous.

She was not a pushover and would not cozy up to someone unreasonable.

"I don't wear the servant uniform because Mr. Nicholls allows it. If you have any objections, you can report me to him."

"How dare you!"

The two women were livid.

"You're not better than us just because you're allowed to stay in your room. I may be young and new to the Nicholls family, but I have the say," Aishah snapped.

Helena proudly boasted, "Aishah was recommended by Mr. Steffan himself. He's a respected elder in the Nicholls family. Who knows? Aishah might even marry Mr. Nicholls in the future. You better wise up and keep your distance. If you dare to do anything out of line, Aishah won't show you mercy and get you kicked out of the Nicholls family."

Mavis thought they sounded ridiculous.
