Mavis said bashfully, "Go ahead and open it."
Inside the box was a bottle of JG men's cologne.
JG was a high-end brand, and the price of its perfume was usually at least double that of ordinary ones on the market.
Nathaniel held the perfume bottle, checking it.
He instantly connected the dots and said, "So, you risked going to Flaming Desire last night to earn tips just to buy me a gift for our date?"
Mavis smiled shyly. "Yes."
"It wasn't necessary, really. I don't place much value on the worth of gifts. It's the thought that counts. Even if it's just a feather, I would appreciate it. Besides, men should be the ones responsible for giving gifts and surprising the girls."
Nathaniel spoke warmly, his charming smile making him incredibly attractive.
Mavis could not help but be mesmerized.
She would do anything just to be someone as wonderful as Nathaniel.
Even if it meant risking her life, she would think it was worth it.
"Alright, let's get in the car. I'll take you for breakfast first," Nathaniel stated, extending his hand to lead her and opening the passenger door.
…
Throughout the entire day, Nathaniel behaved like a true gentleman, attentive to her every need.
Mavis felt like she was living in a dream.
In the morning, they went shopping, where Nathaniel helped her pick out several outfits and pairs of high heels.
In the afternoon, they watched the latest trending movie at the cinema.
To end their date, Nathaniel took her to an upscale restaurant with a serene atmosphere for a candlelight dinner.
Feeling exceptionally happy, Mavis had a few extra drinks and ended up passing out at the dinner table.
Nathaniel walked over and gently pinched her cheek.
"Mavis, wake up. Are you really that drunk?"
Mavis's cheeks flushed as she was quite drunk.
Feeling the cool touch of his hand, she unconsciously grasped it tightly, intertwining their fingers.
Faced with Seymour's surprise, Nathaniel did not explain.
He simply ordered, "Don't alert anyone else in the Nicholls family. Have the kitchen prepare a hangover drink and bring it to my room later."
"Yes, Mr. Nicholls," Seymour replied, but then he felt something was off. "Are you sure you want a hangover drink and not something that helps spice things up… Hmm?"
Nathaniel just glanced at Seymour, silently carrying Mavis upstairs.
Watching his retreating figure, Seymour smiled with relief.
"This is great! Mr. Nicholls has finally come to his senses!"
…
Back in his bedroom, Nathaniel did not lay Mavis on the bed but gently placed her on the nearby couch.
Her skin was extremely fair, and because of the alcohol, her whole body had a rosy glow and emitted a sweet, intoxicating scent with every breath.
Nathaniel sat beside her quietly, watching her for a while.
This face only needed a little makeup to look stunning. Even without it, she was already gorgeous.
