Elliot immediately frowned, and his heart skipped a beat.

He turned to Asher and asked, "Have you been reading these kinds of books lately?"

Asher replied innocently, "Yeah. It's boring during IV treatments, and I don't like watching cartoons, so I wanted to know what adults are thinking about."

Elliot stared at him with a strange expression.

"Who gave you this? Are you sure you can understand it?"

Asher shook his head.

"I asked the professor for it, but the book is too difficult. I can understand some parts, but most of it is beyond me. I've read it several times, but I still don't get it. Can you explain it to me?"

Elliot's expression became serious as he promptly confiscated the book.

"This is a good book. I like it too. Let me read it first, and then I'll explain it to you?"

With the book in hand, Elliot left Asher's room and went straight to find Yosef.

"Elliot, what's wrong? You look so serious."

Elliot immediately handed him the book. "Did you give this book for Asher to read?"

Yosef took it and casually flipped through a few pages.

"Asher is still so young. How could he understand this kind of book? I'm not that dumb to give him this. I've only given him a few picture books to pass the time during his IV drip sessions."

Seeing that Elliot still seemed doubtful, Yosef reassured him, "I really didn't give him this. He said IV drips were boring, so I found him some picture books. That's all."
