Time-Limited Love: A Contract Expired, Not Renewed novel Chapter 109

Xander’s words fanned the flames in Noelle’s heart until they erupted.

“Are you even listening to yourself?” she snapped. “If Landon didn’t care about me, why would he treat me so well, let me have my way all the time?”

“He always chooses me over Zinnia. Doesn’t that mean anything to you?”

Xander could only look at his sister, helpless. He truly didn’t want to see her fall any deeper.

He let out a weary sigh. “You know why he picks you. Don’t let yourself get in too deep, Noelle. Listen to me.”

Noelle was absolutely furious.

She shot up from her seat, ready to bite back, but in the end, she swallowed her words.

“Fine, I get it, Xander. Let’s just drop it, okay? You should focus on taking your medicine.”

He watched her face shift from anger to forced calm, unsure if she’d really heard him at all.

There was a stubborn streak in his sister—one he knew better than anyone. He couldn’t actually afford to push her too hard.

After he took his meds, Noelle straightened.

“Get some rest, Xander. Mom and Dad and I will come see you again later.”

“Alright.”

As she stepped out of the hospital room, she nearly collided with a nurse coming in.

They exchanged a quick glance before Noelle moved past her, leaving the nurse behind. Her expression darkened as she walked away.
