Brian ran multiple red lights in a row, managing to get Jessica to the nearest hospital in just ten minutes.

He rushed into the hospital clutching Jessica, his voice desperate as he cried out, “Doctor, please save her! I beg you, save her!”

Brian rushed into the hospital, clutching Jessica–her face deathly pale, her body limp in deep unconsciousness–overwhelmed by a panic unlike anything he’d ever known.

The doctor rushed over to Brian and asked, “What’s the situation? Why did the patient faint?”

The attending doctor was startled by Brian’s panic, immediately thinking Jessica was having a medical emergency.

Yet the tests revealed it was merely low blood sugar from anemia and exhaustion.

“Just anemia and exhaustion? She looks deathly pale. Are you absolutely sure there’s nothing else?”

Even after hearing the doctor’s diagnosis, Brian still couldn’t put his mind at ease.

Her face was so deathly pale that he couldn’t help but worry.

“Of course it’s more than that! You’re her husband, aren’t you? Did you even know your wife is carrying twins?

“Pregnant women already need ample nutrition and rest as it is–let alone someone carrying twins. She requires even more care! Just how have you been looking after her?”

Since it happened to be a female doctor examining Jessica, she understood all too well what her current physical condition truly signified.

She shot Brian a withering glare.

Brian lowered his head and said quietly, “I’m sorry. This is all my fault.”

Brian was wound up tight with tension, not daring to argue back even as the doctor berated him.

He knew he had no right to argue back.

Jessica actually had twins?

She was pregnant with another two kids!

“Of course, it’s your fault! Letting a pregnant woman get this exhausted without even noticing only rushing her to the hospital after she collapsed? If it’s not your fault, then whose is it?

“Honestly, you’re utterly irresponsible! Seriously, if you’re not ready, you have no business getting someone pregnant.”

The doctor snapped, “With someone like you, when the babies are born, it’ll only mean more suffering for your wife!”

Still scolding Brian, the doctor administered an injection to Jessica.

Seeing this, Brian quickly asked, “What is this? Will she get better after the IV? Will she be allergic to it?”

“It’s a nutritional IV drip. She’s pregnant, so most medications are off–limits. And you don’t even know if she’s allergic?

Brian’s face froze.

He really had no idea.

Seeing this, the doctor scoffed and launched into another scolding
