Brian’s brow furrowed as he thought back to all these years Jessica had spent taking care of Him and Jacob. Anyone with eyes could see how had been looked after.

As for himsell, Jessica had taken such good care of him that he never had to worry about anything outside of work. Even his stomach problems ranity flared d up almomore.

Yet Jessica, who had devoted herself completely to caring for them, was severely malnourished herself.

“Jackson, send that Michelin chef we hired over to Jessica’s place!” Brian called Jackson directly since he wasn’t nearby and Jessica wouldn’t give him the time of day.

Every meal Brian had the chef prepare was either ridiculously fancy or made with the most expensive ingredients. He’d send them to Jessica without even knowing if she wanted to eat them.

Brian knew perfectly well that all the little cakes and treats he’d been sending over these past few days had been given away by Jessica

He didn’t care whatever made Jessica happy was fine with him. But he never imagined she’d be suffering from severe malnutrition.

After thinking for a moment, Brian added, “Actually, bring the chef here. I’ll deliver the food myself.”

At Grant Group, the receptionist called out nervously, “Ms. Grant, the CEO of Atkinson Group wants to see you. He said if you don’t meet with him, he’ll show up at your house.”

‘Brian’s threatening me now? Jessica’s expression turned cold, but she still allowed Brian into the company for a meeting.

In the conference room on the twenty eighth floor, Brian glanced around, remembering the last time he’d been here when Dereck had stood him leaving him waiting all afternoon in this empty room.

He’d already prepared himself to be stood up by Jessica this time, expecting to be left cooling his heels for hours.

The conference room door unexpectedly opened.

Jessica walked in wearing a business suit, her hair pulled back in a simple ponytail that revealed her beautiful neck.

Brian’s eyes darkened slightly. She looked different from the Jessica he’d seen on surveillance cameras.

The Jessica before him was pale, almost ghostly white, without a trace of color in her face.

“Jessi Brian moved forward, wanting to pull Jessica into his arms, but she stepped back, avoiding his touch.

“Mr. Atkinson, what’s so important that you had to grace us with your presence?” Jessica asked.

The partnership between the Grant family and the Atkinson family had been put on hold, leaving no business dealings between them.

“L” Brian hesitated, not wanting Jessica to find out he’d been secretly keeping tabs on her. Even though it was only to protect her better, he knew Jessica would definitely be angry if she found out.

“I’ve hired a chef for you. His family has been serving in the Michelin kitchen for generations,” Brian said, already knowing Jessica would refuse his offer. He moved closer to her and his deep eyes fixed intently on her face.
