The World of Beasts: She's Got Their Hearts novel Chapter 76

The sudden appearance of the silver starship made Analise's pupils constrict. It was far too close.

The starship was right next to the one Analise was currently on, seemingly trying to pass by.

"Stop it! Finlay!" Gideon shouted. "If he gets away today, Ana will be in danger in the future!"

Hearing Gideon say Analise would be in danger, Finlay almost instinctively aimed the starship's weapons at the silver vessel.

Gideon steered his own ship toward them at top speed.

"Ana, they won't be able to catch Sean. You need help. Aim the Purification Bow at Sean's heart and sever their connection!" Echo spoke up again.

"This is a newly added task. There will be a high reward of points upon completion."

The moment Analise heard there were points to earn, she didn't hesitate.

"Finlay, let's go. We're getting on the small starship." She pulled Finlay along. "Catch up to him, preferably from the front of the starship!"

"Gideon, can interstellar calls have multiple participants? Connect me with Scott and the security force. And if possible, connect with Sean too!"

Analise pursed her lips and asked Echo in her mind, "Is it possible that Sean was forcibly bound by another system and threatened to do these things?"

"That's its usual tactic."

Echo's answer confirmed her suspicion.

"If the Purification Bow is aimed at his heart, will it only sever their connection, or will it also kill Sean?" Analise admitted she was being unnecessarily kind.

But if Sean had truly been forcibly bound and threatened into doing these things, then perhaps he could be forgiven.

At the very least, she couldn't bring herself to end his life outright.

Just as Sean had said, he was only trying to survive.

No one wants to die.

Inside the sleek silver starship, crackling energy hummed through the walls.

Sean's voice hardened. "So, go ahead. Kill me. Or I'll tell Analise everything I've learned from you."

"Ugh..." Sean groaned as another jolt of electricity surged through him before he collapsed onto the floor. "I can feel your sense of crisis. The Synatrix... you must have some kind of connection to them, right?"

"Heh. Whether you live or die isn’t my concern." Sean's system sneered coldly.

"Argh!"

Another, even stronger surge of electricity coursed through him.

It wouldn't kill him outright, but it would make him wish it had.

Ding!

The alert for an interstellar call request chimed. Gritting his teeth against the pain, Sean struggled to push himself up from the floor.

Through his eyes, his system registered the caller.
