However, after catching Scott's icy glare, the other men quickly averted their eyes without a word.
"Pfft..."
Analise, who had been holding back for a while, finally burst into laughter. Scott's stone-cold expression, paired with his bright red ears, was just too much to handle.
His embarrassment only deepened.
"Ana, I have things to do. I'm heading to the control room," Scott muttered, trying to pull his hand away.
"Alright, alright," Analise said with a grin, releasing his hand and Finlay's as well.
They had both been holding her hands the entire way, and her palms were starting to get sweaty.
"Ana, why did you let go of my hand too?" Finlay pouted, reaching for her hand again.
"Finlay, come with me to the resting cabin. I have a reward for you," Analise said, her mood much improved as she decided to tease him.
"Really?" The ever-trusting Finlay took the bait.
Once inside the rest cabin, Analise had Finlay shift into his wolf form.
"Finlay, where do you even get all these crazy ideas?" she asked, lying on his soft, furry belly and playfully tugging at his tail.
"Um... I can't say," Finlay replied, his tail instinctively curling around her, craving more affection, but he held himself back.
The three days following a female's heat cycle were strictly off-limits.
Finlay looked at Analise with a sympathetic expression. "Ana, we can only mate after your heat cycle."
Analise blinked in surprise.
She had forgotten that he was a straightforward guy who never played games.
"But what if I want to today?" she asked with a teasing smile, tightening her grip on his tail.
"That… still won't work." Finlay's face turned pink, but his resolve remained firm. "You can pet my ears and tail, though. Your well-being comes first."
Analise let out a soft chuckle. "You know, sometimes being simple and straightforward isn't so bad."
Then, without another word, she buried her face in his soft belly.
"Huh?"
"I don't know. He's been weak since birth.
"Later, Sean fell seriously ill. He recovered somewhat, but his personality changed a lot.
"At some point, he started associating with the Reclaimers, which made Scott furious. But their mother thought Scott was overreacting.
"She had always favored his brother due to his frail health, which only made her like Scott even less after this incident.
"Eventually, evidence surfaced that Sean had been colluding with the Reclaimers, leading to his imprisonment in the underground cells of the Hopkins Galaxy Lodge. However, Scott's mother secretly set him free."
At that moment, Finlay abruptly fell silent.
"Set him free? So, Sean is still alive?" Analise sat up straighter.
"Yeah. I told you he was working with the Reclaimers. After his mother released him... He..." Finlay hesitated.
"He what? Just say it. Why are you suddenly being so coy?" Analise reached out and pinched the fur around Finlay's wolfish muzzle.
"He... killed his own mother." Finlay pursed his lips. "Even in her final moments, she was still protecting him, keeping Scott from capturing him."
