"Yes." Gideon couldn't hold his tears back anymore. They slid down his cheeks, making her look even more haggard.

Analise had spoken softly, but they weighed heavy in Scott's heart.

"What?" Turning around, he looked at her. At the next second, his words mirrored Gideon's. "No! Is there no other way? Isn't there anything else that could replace the key component?"

It finally dawned on Scott why Gideon asked if he could part with it and said that he couldn't do it.

"I'm a pure human, and I have the Purication…" Analise caught herself and said, "And I have the strongest calming ability. My blood is undoubtedly the best choice."
