The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 862

Her presence seemed to make the air easier to breathe, diluting the suffocating negativity that had been crushing him. But that small relief was quickly consumed by a deeper anxiety. The more he looked at her gentle face, the more he was reminded of all the years he had failed her and their daughter, and the weight of his guilt grew heavier.

He set down his soup bowl, his knuckles white as he gripped his fork.

Danielle noticed the shift in him. “What’s wrong?” she asked softly. “Is the food not to your liking?”

Alexander shook his head. He pushed the food around his plate but barely ate. Across from him, Danielle was quietly sipping her soup. The more he watched her, the more the guilt swelled inside him, rising like a tide until it threatened to drown him. He remembered their wedding day, Danielle radiant in her white dress, smiling as she told him she was looking forward to their life together. She had just graduated from the Aerospace Institute, full of ambition and ready to take on the world, but marrying him had forced her to waste her energy dealing with the petty dramas of the Davidson family—Jake’s criticisms, Bianca’s cautiousness, Nathan’s endless provocations.

“Are you feeling unwell?” Danielle asked again.

He forced a smile, but his facial muscles felt stiff. “No, I’m just not very hungry.”

“Then at least have some more soup. The doctor said it’s good for your recovery.”

“I can get it myself.”
