The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 787

Danielle stood frozen, her fingertips numb with cold.

She knew Alexander might be walking into danger, but she hesitated, torn about whether she should warn him.

They had already decided to part ways for good. She had no right to get involved in his affairs anymore.

Yet the words she’d overheard in the lounge echoed in her mind, and the thought that Alexander could be in real danger twisted her heart into knots.

Just then, the private room’s door swung open. The people inside caught sight of Alexander, and the noisy chatter died instantly.

A burly man got to his feet, a menacing grin spreading across his face. “Mr. Davidson, we’ve been waiting for you.”

Alexander didn’t reply; he simply stared the man down, his gaze so cold it seemed to freeze the air around him.

Behind him, Nash shifted, his hand subtly moving to his belt, ready for anything.

Around the corner in the hallway, Danielle pressed herself against the wall, her heart pounding in her throat.

She had no idea what was about to happen in there—or what she was supposed to do.

As she wavered, her phone suddenly buzzed. It was Kirsten: “Danielle, where are you? Everyone’s waiting for you.”

Danielle took a deep breath, pushing down her anxiety, and replied, “I’ll be right there. Just give me another minute.”

She hung up and glanced at the closed door to Alexander’s room. After a moment’s hesitation, she turned and walked back to her own private dining room.

She told herself this was Alexander’s mess to deal with, not hers.

They were strangers now. His fate was none of her concern. But as she reached her room, she couldn’t help glancing over her shoulder, her eyes darting to where Alexander was.
