The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 595

Gian shook his head. “You’re always coming up with crazy ideas. Seriously, do you think that's realistic? It’s illegal.”

“If you want to get something off his phone, you could just talk to him.”

“Whether you can negotiate is another story, but people don’t just keep files like that on their phone for no reason. He must have a use for them.”

Danielle had already thought of this. There was no way she’d ever agree to give up custody of her daughter.

Maybe Alexander had no idea why her refusal was so absolute.

Last time, both she and her daughter had paid with their lives.

There was no way Danielle would ever trust Niki to him—no way she’d let herself get tangled up with him again.

Sharing custody was out of the question.

Alexander thought he could plan for everything, but this was one thing he never saw coming: Danielle would never agree.

She’d been given a second chance.

Some wounds could never be healed.

What had happened before would always be a shadow on her heart.

Danielle closed her eyes for a moment. “Let’s focus on work right now. We can talk about personal matters after hours.”

Kirsten chimed in, “Anyway, you should go see him today and have a proper conversation. If you can’t reach an agreement, try a different approach.”

“Given your current position, there’s got to be something he wants from you.”

Danielle nodded. “I’ll handle it. Don’t worry.”

Gian looked at her, a little concerned. “Are you sure you’re okay going alone? You don’t want one of us to come with you?”

She smiled. “I’m not a kid anymore. You don’t have to babysit me.”

Gian hesitated, frowning. “I just feel like something’s been off with you two lately. Did something happen?”

“If you need anything, you have to tell us. Don’t bottle it up.”

Danielle nodded, then gave Gian a light pat on the shoulder. “Come on. When have I ever been shy with you two? I’ll be fine.”

Danielle drove herself to The Davidson Group.

When she arrived, she checked in at the front desk.

As she approached, she overheard the security guards gossiping. They were saying The Davidson Group was about to change hands—that Alexander was about to lose everything.

“The eldest Davidson son is back. What right does the younger brother have to fight for the family’s assets? Everything should go to the firstborn, that’s the tradition.”

“If we’re talking inheritance, sure, the eldest gets it all. But The Davidson Group is what Mr. Davidson built from the ground up. Is the eldest really just going to walk in and take it?”

“I doubt the board or most shareholders would be happy about that.”

The guards had worked there for years. They had a soft spot for the old boss. Even if they hadn’t spoken much to Alexander, they saw him come and go every day.

“Yeah, Mr. Davidson did all the work to put this company on the map. Now he’s supposed to just hand it over? No one’s going to accept that.”

One of them scoffed, “Feels like a storm is coming. The fight for control is about to start. Who knows who’ll end up on top?”

Danielle barely paid attention.

He glanced at the empty chair beside him. “Sit.”

Danielle walked over and set a stack of documents on the desk.

She glanced at the chair next to her. A woman’s purse was sitting on it.

She didn’t care whose it was. Alexander had already said it—if it wasn’t Millie, it’d be someone else.

Even if there was no one now, there would be soon enough. Men had needs.

Alexander, especially.

Of course he’d find someone.

Danielle looked away indifferently and sat on a sofa at the other end of the office.

She met his eyes. “You know exactly what you’ve done. Even if I gave you an example, you’d have a thousand ways to spin it.”

Alexander crossed his legs, propping an elbow on the armrest as he watched her. “You know me that well?”

“I’m here for two reasons,” Danielle said. “First, business. We need to sign the contract; the project is finished and ready for handover.”

Alexander couldn’t have looked less interested in business. “And the personal matter?”

“I want the evidence. All of it.”

Alexander leaned forward. “If you’re not willing to give me custody of our daughter, there’s nothing to discuss. Anything else is a waste of time.”

His meaning was crystal clear: if Danielle wouldn’t give up custody, there was no deal. On this, he wouldn’t budge.
