The Villainess Needs a Hug (Ivy Windsor) novel Chapter 998

Naylor closed the distance quickly, starting off with his usual mockery. "I thought you would have moved in with him by now."

Katrina stayed silent at first, clearly annoyed. After a pause, she shot back, "I did move in with him. I just came back to grab a few things."

"Is that so? Where does he live?"

"What do you want?"

"Relax, I'm not going to do anything. Just looking out for your safety," Naylor explained, his smile looking more natural, shedding his earlier arrogant vibe.

"Thanks, but no thanks."

Katrina regained her composure. Throwing him a feigned look of indifference, she turned to head through the security gate.

Naylor didn't leave. Instead, he shadowed her steps and slipped through the gate behind her.

"What exactly do you want?" Katrina snapped, anxious that he'd figure out she was lying about moving out.

Naylor followed her into the elevator and smirked. "When you packed up my stuff, did you miss something?"

Katrina looked suspicious before letting out a cold laugh. "You're really going with such a lame excuse?"

"It's not an excuse. I'm missing a watch. I remember taking it off and leaving it on your nightstand the last time I stayed over." Naylor looked entirely serious, not like he was joking at all.

Katrina knew he owned a ton of watches, none of them cheap.

There had been a few times before when he had taken his watch off while washing up and left it on the bathroom counter for her to put away.

Had he really left one on the nightstand this time?

Katrina didn't argue, just gave him a guarded look. "Don't come inside. I'll look for it. You wait out here."

"Why?" Naylor challenged confidently. "I literally helped you find this apartment. Now I'm not even allowed in?"
