Max put down his phone, his expression darkening.
At five o'clock the next morning, Max arrived in New York. Felicia woke up early and saw the message Max had sent her. She typed a quick, brief reply.
After breakfast, Heather brought Yara downstairs to see Anne. Felicia had asked them to come over. As for the incident from the other night, Anne had already put it behind her. She took the initiative to pull Yara into the room and handed her a cat teaser wand. The two little girls were soon playing happily with the kittens.
"I'll leave Anne in your care today, Heather," Felicia said.
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of her," Heather assured her.
After giving Anne a few instructions, Felicia left the house. Jeremy was waiting for her at the door.
"Let's go," Jeremy said.
"Mm," she replied.
The weather had suddenly turned hot over the past two days, and the morning sun was already beating down on them. Jeremy drove her straight to the hospital. He stayed by her side as she completed all her examinations, but the results would take time to process. Felicia told him to head to the office first while she waited at the hospital.
It was noon by the time the report came out. The final results were disappointing. Her levels still hadn't met the standard, and her body lacked proper nutrition. The only good news was that the numbers had decreased slightly from her initial tests.
Felicia sat on a bench in the lobby, silently staring at the report in her hands. It wasn't until Tommy called her that she finally tucked the paper back into her bag and walked out of the building. After lunch, she headed straight to the office.
When she discussed work with Jeremy that afternoon, he asked about her appointment. "How were the test results?"
