The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback novel Chapter 895

Darin's heart abruptly clenched. The way she was glaring at him made it feel as though he was the one committing a terrible crime. He slowly pushed Savannah off his chest, carefully propping her up against the cushions. She had completely passed out by now.

Darin stood up and walked over to Felicia, intentionally softening his voice. "Felicia, it’s me. Your brother. I’ll take you to bed so you can rest." He reached out to gently pry the empty glass from her hand.

Felicia gripped the glass tightly, refusing to let him take it. Staring intensely at him, her face flushed and her voice thick with a heavy, drunken nasal tone, she demanded, "Whose brother are you?"

Darin's movements paused for a split second before he forcefully wrested the glass from her grasp. Felicia tried to resist, but she was entirely sapped of strength. He placed a warm hand on top of her head, his tone tender. "Yours, of course. We are biological siblings."

Felicia swatted his hand away, refusing his touch. Her voice was incredibly weak. "I do not have a brother."

Darin merely offered a patient explanation. "We are siblings. We will be for the rest of our lives, and I will always protect you from now on." His large palm settled warmly on the crown of her head once again.

Suddenly, Felicia let out a choked sob.

Darin's heart trembled violently, his stomach dropping straight into his shoes.

"I do not need a brother! Go away!" Her voice was thick with tears and a deep, buried grievance as she weakly tried to push him away.

Darin stood rooted to the spot, completely unmoving. Then, he bent down, swept his arms under her, and lifted her into a bridal carry.

Felicia struggled weakly for a moment before her stomach violently lurched.

Frowning in alarm, Darin quickly set her back down. The nanny reacted with lightning speed, shoving a trash can directly in front of her just as she began to vomit profusely.

The nanny rushed off to prepare some water. Felicia continued to heave until she was completely exhausted, her body drained of all energy.

Darin guided her back to the sofa, laying her down gently while the nanny scrambled to clean up the chaotic mess in the living room and crack the windows for fresh air. Fearing she might start struggling again, Darin held her arms securely from behind, allowing the nanny to spoon the water into her mouth. By this point, Felicia had absolutely no strength left to fight back.

Once she finally settled down, Darin carried her up to her bedroom and laid her on the bed. He stepped out, leaving the nanny to help her change into a fresh set of pajamas.

Savannah was still passed out on the downstairs sofa. Darin returned, scooped her up, and carried her to the guest room where she was staying.

Darin massaged his temples. "Let us leave it at that for now." He hung up the phone.

Early the next morning, Felicia woke up feeling absolutely awful. Her head pounded viciously, the room spun around her, and her body ached with deep exhaustion. A heavy, sickening stench of alcohol clung to her skin.

She lay in bed for a long time, waiting until her mind finally began to clear before reaching over to press the call bell.

The nanny hurried upstairs, bringing a warm bowl of oatmeal. "Madam, you are awake. Please, have some of this to soothe your stomach."

Felicia took the bowl. "I need to take a bath."

"Right away." The nanny went into the bathroom, drew a warm bath, and set out fresh, clean clothes. "It is ready, Madam. Do you need any assistance?"

Felicia waved her hand dismissively. "No, you can step out now."

The nanny nodded and turned to leave. Just as she reached the door, Felicia suddenly spoke up. "Where is Savannah?"
