The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback novel Chapter 884

The entire afternoon flew by as Max and Felicia helped Anne mold clay. The little girl proved to be a fast learner, proudly crafting a simple apple shape. Max sat by her side, helping her carefully paint it.

"Mommy, look!"

"You did amazing, baby."

Anne's pale, chubby cheeks were smeared with paint and clay. Unsurprisingly, Felicia had also caught quite a bit of the mess. Max, however, had remained immaculately clean from start to finish.

Noticing Felicia staring at him, Max raised an eyebrow. "Why are you looking at me like that? Do I have something on my face?"

Felicia simply replied, "Just noticing how pristine you kept yourself."

Max let out a low chuckle. "I prefer to stay clean."

The moment the words left his mouth, Anne piped up. "Daddy, you have dirt on your face!"

"What?" Max asked, slightly confused.

Anne reached up with her messy hands and swiped a generous glob of mud and paint across his cheek. She immediately erupted into giggles. "Now Daddy is clean!"

"Oh, really? I am clean now?" Max asked, feigning seriousness.

Anne nodded emphatically. "Daddy is the cleanest!"

Max reached out and playfully pinched her cheek. His handsome face was softened with absolute adoration. "You little rascal."

Anne tilted her chin up defiantly. "If I am a little rascal, then Daddy is a big rascal!"

Max pulled his hand back and glanced over at the woman watching them with amusement. "And what does that make Mommy?"

Without a second thought, Anne declared, "Mommy is the good mommy, of course!"

"So Daddy is a baddie, and Mommy is the good mommy?" Max mused.

Anne leaned comfortably against Felicia. "Exactly."

Felicia wrapped her arms around her daughter, pulling her close.

Max sighed in mock defeat. "Fine, then. If Daddy is a baddie, then baddies are supposed to bully people." As he spoke, his gaze drifted meaningfully toward Felicia.

Felicia took Anne to wash her hands and face.

Afterward, they moved on to the claw machines.

Despite dropping token after token, Felicia couldn't manage to grab a single plushie. Determined to break her losing streak, she refused to give up. Max, on the other hand, won a prize on every single try. Anne soon had more plushies than she could carry.

Max glanced over at the frustrated woman beside him. She was biting her lip, locked in a fierce battle of wills with the machine. She finally snagged a toy, and it hovered right over the drop chute, only to slip through the claw and bounce back into the pile. Felicia stomped her foot in pure frustration.

Beside her, Max let out a soft laugh. "Want me to teach you?"

Felicia turned to him, catching the teasing gleam in his eyes. She scowled. "I can do it myself."

Max handed over the rest of his tokens. "I believe in you."

Staring at the basket of tokens, she was absolutely certain this man was just waiting to watch her embarrass herself further.

Then, Anne's sweet voice chimed in. "You can do it, Mommy!"

Felicia looked at her daughter. Now she had no choice but to keep trying. She refused to accept that she wouldn't catch a single toy today.
