Felicia sat in the car, reading through the agreement in her hands. Her eyes slowly darkened. So this was where things had ended up.
Max, you better keep this up for real.
She slipped the agreement into her purse and headed back to the office. As soon as she walked in, Savannah found her and asked if she could come along to a blind date.
It looked like Savannah had finally given up fighting. Years of stubborn resistance, and for what? She couldn’t even remember why she cared so much anymore. So for this latest setup from her family, she decided to just go with the flow and meet the guy called Chris.
He was from Northwick. They’d chatted online for a while, exchanged a few photos. Felicia had seen his photo too. Sure, he wasn’t anything like Darin with that top-tier charisma and looks, but compared to most guys, he was still a solid catch.
The guy seemed really into Savannah. He’d sent her a bunch of thoughtful gifts and was always checking in on her. At first, Savannah had wanted nothing to do with him, but in the end, she made herself give it a chance.
Tonight, he was in the Capital and had invited her to dinner to finally meet in person. He was two years younger than Savannah and was already starting to take over his family’s business.
“I’ll go with you. It’ll feel less weird with three people,” Felicia offered.
Savannah just shrugged. “Nothing weird about it. I actually need you there to help me size him up.”
That night, Felicia and Savannah went to the restaurant. Jeremy tagged along, too.
Savannah’s parents, Finley and Joy, were getting impatient about her being single. Finley had even asked Jeremy to give her a little push. When he heard about the date, Finley called Jeremy ahead of time, asking him to keep an eye on things and make sure Savannah didn’t blow it again.
So Jeremy and Felicia arrived after Savannah and took a seat on a sofa across from her table.
They ordered their food.
