Jeremy reached out and presented the diamond hairpin to her. "You dropped this just now."
Ivy stared at it, her hand instinctively flying up to check her hair. She quickly took the hairpin from his palm. "Thank you."
The two of them sat together in a comfortable silence for a brief moment.
"About what you said earlier..."
"We can give it a try."
Ivy's sentence was cut short. Hearing Jeremy's smooth response, her eyes widened in absolute disbelief as she stared at him. An overwhelming wave of emotion immediately crashed against her chest, bringing with it a joy so profound it was entirely beyond words.
The wedding festivities continued in full swing for three whole days. The entire event was kept strictly confidential, entirely shielded from the public eye. This was exactly what Felicia had requested, as she had absolutely no desire to attract unnecessary media attention.
Three days later, the guests gradually began departing from the estate. Max brought Felicia and the children back to their home country. Darin and Savannah tagged along, enjoying a comfortable ride on Max's private jet.
On the very day they returned to the Capital, Max and Felicia took the children straight to Hawthorne Manor. Hope and Nate were both already there waiting.
Miranda held baby Julian in her arms, her face beaming with boundless joy. She looked as though she had instantly shed years off her age. "He is just so incredibly handsome. Hello there, baby Julian, I am your Great-grandma."
Baby Julian did not cry or fuss in the slightest. Instead, he happily waved his tiny hands in the air. This adorable sight instantly filled the entire room with joyous, unending laughter.
Miranda looked up at Felicia with immense gratitude. "Thank you. You are truly a blessing to the Hawthorne family."
Whether it was Anne or baby Julian, the arrival of these children had brought light exactly when the household needed warmth the most. Hearing Miranda's heartfelt words, Felicia simply offered a soft, gentle smile.
For the next period of time, Felicia and Max took up residence at the Manor. The once quiet and cold house was now filled with vibrant energy and liveliness, all thanks to the arrival of the new life.
After resting for a few days, Felicia officially returned to the workforce. She resumed her highly respected position as the Editor-in-Chief of Global Finance Review. Colt, naturally, welcomed her decision to return with open arms and immense enthusiasm. Having missed out on so much time away, Felicia had been working overtime recently to get completely caught up on everything.
One evening, a heavy rain began to fall. She stayed at the office working overtime until eight o'clock. Max gave her a call to check in. Felicia packed up her belongings, rode the elevator down to the lobby, and stepped out of the building.
The handsome man had just pulled his car up to the curb. The car door swung open. Max popped open an umbrella and took long, purposeful strides around the front of the vehicle. Under the pouring rain and the glow of the city streetlights, he walked toward Felicia like a beacon cutting through the dark curtain of water.
