Felicia took Anne's hand and led her to the main living room, with Luke following closely behind them. As Max walked in through the front doors, Anne immediately sprinted toward him. "Daddy!"

Max stepped forward, leaning down to scoop the little girl smoothly into his arms. "Did you miss me?"

"Of course!" Anne declared cheerfully, planting a loud, wet kiss squarely on his cheek. Max chuckled warmly, reaching up to affectionately ruffle her hair.

"Welcome home," Felicia said softly.

Max looked at Felicia. He gently set Anne back down on the floor, immediately reaching out to grasp Felicia's hand. "Did you miss me?"

Felicia shot him a pointed look, her eyes darting slightly to signal that they had company.

Max simply smiled, unbothered, and turned his attention toward Luke. "When did you get in?" Max asked.

"I just arrived today," Luke replied.

"If you aren't in a rush, you should stay here for a few extra days."

"I only came to check on Felicia and Julian. I have to leave tomorrow. There is still business back home that needs my attention, so I can't stay away for too long."

"Alright," Max nodded understandingly. He then looked down at his daughter. "Anne, go keep Uncle Luke company. Mommy and Daddy are going upstairs to check on your little brother."

"Okay!" Anne agreed brightly.

Max and Felicia made their way upstairs and returned to the master bedroom. Tatiana was just finishing coaxing the baby to sleep.

"You're back," Tatiana noted quietly.

Max murmured a brief acknowledgment.

"He just fell asleep, so try not to wake him. You should go shower and freshen up first before you spend time with the baby," Tatiana instructed.

"I know."

Tatiana didn't linger. She stepped quietly out of the bedroom, closing the door firmly behind her. The very moment the latch clicked shut, Max pulled Felicia tightly against him, lowering his head to capture her lips in a fiercely passionate, desperate kiss. Felicia pressed her hands against his broad chest, feeling as though the intense heat of his lips was entirely stealing her breath away.
