Felicia took a seat on an adjacent sofa. "What were you all talking about?"
"What did Max say about last night's fiasco?" Darin asked, cutting straight to the chase.
"He didn't say much of anything," Felicia answered simply.
Darin scrutinized her face for any signs of distress, but she appeared remarkably composed. There was not a single trace of tension or unease in her posture.
"What are your plans regarding Dannie?" Felicia asked, turning her attention back to Jeremy.
"I have already handed the matter over to my legal team. We are proceeding with formal criminal prosecution," Jeremy explained. The scandal had spiraled so far out of control that Dannie's initial personal sabotage had been entirely overshadowed by the corporate fallout.
"Your parents should finally be able to see her true motives now," Felicia remarked. "Still, you have to be careful. You need to take precautions to prevent her from doing something even more insane down the line."
Jeremy offered a grim sound of agreement. "After this, I doubt she will ever harbor any more delusions."
Felicia nodded. "That is a relief."
"Still, I owe you a sincere apology for all of this," Jeremy said, his tone heavy with formal regret.
"It has absolutely nothing to do with you," Felicia insisted quickly. "You are the victim here. All that online chatter has zero effect on me, and I haven't given it a second thought."
Jeremy nodded softly, letting the matter rest.
"Did you know about BlueMarble's public statement beforehand?" Darin interjected.
Felicia rubbed her heavy eyes, forcing a weak smile. "I slept fine. Just a little drowsy."
Noting her healthy color, Ava's worries eased slightly. "It is probably just the pregnancy. As the baby grows, you will start feeling more lethargic. Come on, freshen up. It is time for lunch."
After dragging herself out of bed and washing her face, Felicia headed downstairs. Glancing around the dining area, she noticed Jeremy was gone. "Where did Jeremy go?" she asked.
"He had some business to attend to, so he already left," Greg answered.
Felicia murmured her understanding. She spent the rest of the dreary day cooped up inside the estate. Darin headed out in the afternoon on business. To keep her from dying of boredom, Savannah and Heather brought Yara over for a visit. Knowing the young girl was watching, Heather was forced to dial back her usual fiery attitude toward Greg.
"Have you told Yara about you and Greg yet?" Felicia asked Heather quietly. If the two of them were seriously pursuing a relationship, winning Yara's approval was absolutely paramount. Fortunately, given the current state of affairs, Yara's biological father was likely too buried in his own catastrophic problems to have the energy to interfere with Heather's life anymore.
