The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback novel Chapter 1010

Felicia had genuinely been angry enough to throw them out the night before. But when she considered how Anne would inevitably ask about them if they disappeared, she realized she had no idea how to explain it to her daughter. She gave a small nod.

Savannah walked over, tossed her purse onto the sofa, and plucked a single rose from the arrangement to examine it. "It looks like he's trying to win you back."

Felicia could only offer a dry chuckle. "I certainly don't feel it." Max was still operating the exact same way he always had. Whenever he gave something, she was expected to accept it gracefully. If she failed to satisfy his expectations, he would immediately turn hostile.

Savannah slipped the flower back into place. "If a man like him actually knew how to court a woman, the sun would rise in the west."

Felicia brushed the topic aside. "You haven't eaten breakfast yet, have you? Let's eat first."

Savannah hummed in agreement. Since she was already here, she had plenty of time to hunt Darin down and settle their score.

Felicia went to wake Anne up, helped her get dressed, and led her to the dining room.

Seeing Savannah, Anne called out in her sweet, soft voice, "Auntie Savannah!"

Savannah stepped forward, scooped Anne into her arms, and planted a firm kiss on the little girl's cheek.

After breakfast, Felicia dialed Darin's number. Come to think of it, this was the first time she had ever called him of her own volition. The phone rang until it was nearly about to go to voicemail before Darin finally answered.

"Felicia, what is it?" he asked, his tone perfectly natural.

"Where are you right now?" Felicia inquired.

"I'm at the office. Handling a few temporary matters," Darin replied smoothly.

"How incredibly convenient."

Darin acted as though he completely missed the heavy sarcasm in her voice. "Yes, it really couldn't be helped."
