Megan felt a sense of discomfort when Blake brought up her past relationship with Nolan.
However, she still nodded and replied, "Yes, I'm divorced from Nolan. I left him because I found out what kind of person he was. I consider you a friend, and that's why I'm warning you. You're being tricked.
"Mr. Norwich, Nolan is not a good person. He's only acting so aggressively because of the Baxter family's backing. But you don't have to be afraid of the Baxters. You don't have to play along with Nolan."
Blake smiled lightly at her words. "You make a fair point, Ms. Turner. But do you think maybe you're misjudging him? Is it possible that there are misunderstandings between you two?
"Maybe Mr. Greene isn't as you think. Perhaps he's even better than you imagined. Have you considered that possibility, Ms. Turner?"
Megan froze for a moment, then turned to look at Nolan. She scoffed. "Him? Mr. Norwich, you've really been brainwashed by him. Don't worry. Even if he has some skills, it's nothing but tricks. Even if not, it's just luck.
"To be honest, he's just an ordinary person. Calling him a loser would be flattering him. Mr. Norwich, you should really get to know a person before you speak."
Blake nodded at her words. "I won't argue about this, but I still intend to buy the jewelry. It's a great gift for someone, and more importantly, it can appreciate. If I sell it later, I could still make tens of millions."
Megan's frustration grew seeing that Blake was still set on his decision.
"It only works if the jewelry is real, Mr. Norwich. You don't even know how to appraise jewelry. What if he refuses to honor it after you bought it? Won't that make you a laughingstock?"
Blake smiled and responded, "True, but the jewelry is real."
"Go ahead," Nolan calmly replied.
Blake continued, "Everyone here is doubting the authenticity of the Crystal of Devotion. Even after I offered such a high price to buy it, I've been mocked by these people as being clueless.
"I don't really mind their comments. It's one thing for my reputation to be tarnished, but it wouldn't be right to have your name be dragged down with mine.
"I'm a member of the Norwich family. Since the Crystal of Devotion was bought at Norwich Jewelers, even if we brought in the staff or an appraiser from there to verify it, some people would still think it's staged.
"Under these circumstances, I think there's a simple way to prove the truth. That is, to bring out the receipt for the Crystal of Devotion you've received from Norwich Jewelers. That should silence everyone's doubt."
