The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 300

"Over here, Leonard!" Kara took a few steps forward, looking delighted as if she were reuniting with an old lover.

Leonard returned the smile. "Kara, you're getting more beautiful each day. Happy birthday! Here's your gift. I hope you'll like it," he said as he handed her the present.

Kara's eyes gleamed as she took it. "Leonard, what is this? Could it be the legendary Spirit of Life Serum from your company?"

Leonard wasn't the only one taken aback by Kara's question. Everyone else present was equally shocked. They shook their heads, finding her question presumptuous. She may have been joking, but it wasn't exactly appropriate.

Leonard was just an ordinary employee of Myth Group. Even if he somehow had access to such a valuable item, he wouldn't likely give it to a mere schoolmate.

Sure enough, Leonard laughed and shook his head. "Sorry, Kara, but it's not the Spirit of Life Serum. It's something else. We only produce and allocate limited vials each month. It's extremely hard for me to get a vial too."

Everyone picked up on how Leonard mentioned it was extremely hard to get one, but not impossible, and their eyes brightened at the possibility.

Right then, Megan stepped forward with a smile. "You must be Kara's senior. I'm Megan Turner, CEO of Megan Corporation in Bellington. It's nice to meet you. I hope we'll have the opportunity to connect further in the future."

Upon hearing this, Kara quickly added, "Leonard, this is Megan, my cousin's best friend. She's always looked out for me."

Leonard, mesmerized by Megan's beauty, smiled and said, "Ms. Turner, to be so accomplished at such a young age is impressive. I'd be delighted to connect more in the future." With that, they exchanged business cards.

Ironhead was next to introduce himself. Handing out his business card with a smile, he said, "Hello, I'm Ironhead. I work for Gregory Lynch of Eastland.

"Mr. Lynch has tried your company's Spirit of Life Serum and it was miraculous. If you don't mind, we'd love a chance to chat privately later. And if you're ever in Eastland, or anywhere in Eastern State, just say the word if you need anything."

There was finally a subtle change to Leonard's expression at the mention of Gregory's name. Accepting Ironhead's business card, he smiled.

"I've heard of Mr. Lynch's reputation, and as one of our group's clients, we're truly grateful to him for supporting our business."

Meanwhile, Kara was growing impatient. While she felt a sense of pride watching one person after another approach Leonard, she also felt as though her moment was being stolen.
