The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 299

"Audrey, you think that just because everyone says it's fake, that it has to be fake? Just because you see me as ordinary and incompetent I don't deserve anything good or a chance to change my fate?

"Are you all Gods? If you're not, then what gives you the right to decide my fate or control my future? Just because all of you agree with each other, I should bow down and let you trample all over me?

"Well, I'm sorry, but I refuse!" With these powerful words, Nolan stood up to Audrey and everyone around him. No matter the storm that raged against him, he would stand resolute and unyielding.

Audrey's eyes reddened, and her heart ached as she blamed herself for not believing Nolan. Looking at Nolan, she saw a strong-willed figure standing alone on a vast ocean, braving a relentless storm, with thunder crashing and waves towering, but refusing to be crushed.

Regardless of the outcome, Nolan was at the very least worthy of respect. But no one respected Nolan.

Kara sneered at Nolan. "You're still arguing in the face of the truth? Who do you think you are? Fine then. Let's wait for my senior to arrive and tell you himself that this is fake. He will crush your lies for everyone to see. I can't wait to see what you have to say then!"

Megan sneered too. "Exactly. Since Nolan is this stubborn, there's nothing more to say. Kara, let's just wait for your senior."

Kara scoffed. "Stop with the act. My senior has arrived, Nolan. He'll be able to examine it himself, and then we'll see if you have anything left to say!"

As Kara spoke, she stood in the hall, watching the entrance intently.

Soon, a young man entered, catching everyone's attention. He walked briskly and wore a smile, but he had an unmistakable prideful air at first glance. And rightly so, as anyone would be proud to be working at Myth Group's headquarters.
