The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 235

Nolan had one hand in his pocket, and he patted Michael's shoulder with the other. Then, he smiled faintly and said, "I know this is Bellington, and I'm not planning on running, alright? Don't worry. I'm not going to make things hard for you."

Then, the car arrived.

Nolan got into the backseat right away. Michael wanted to sit with Nolan at first. However, he hesitated for a moment and decided to sit in the passenger seat instead. It was as if they were starting to protect Nolan and letting him order them around again.

"Where are we going, Mr. Greene?"

After Nolan told them the address, the car started driving slowly. Half an hour later, they were out of the urban district. Although the view was beautiful, there was nothing out there.

"Where are we headed to, Mr. Greene? There are only hills and woods out here, and no one's around this area."

Nolan said with a smile, "Relax. We'll be there soon. Besides, who says there isn't anyone out here?"

As if on cue, they saw some men in suits blocking the path ahead five minutes later, and those people looked domineering. However, Michael was Lincoln's man, and they were still in Bellington. So, he wasn't afraid of them at all.

"The path ahead is blocked, Mr. Greene. Do you still want to press forward?"

Nolan smiled. "Let's stop here."

Clearly, Lincoln's men weren't expecting that at all, and they were feeling hesitant at that moment. After all, the men in suits looked domineering, and they clearly weren't the only people there.

Michael and the others wondered if that was a trap. Did Nolan trick them all the way there to get rid of them? However, it didn't seem that way to them when they looked at his expression.

They didn't dare to ignore Lincoln's instructions as well. So, they couldn't just stand right there and let Nolan leave their sight like that.

"Let's go, guys. We're in Bellington, and this is our territory. So, why should we be afraid?"
