Audrey's face immediately became pale. She lowered her head and said nothing.
George exchanged glances with Courtney. They had no idea what was going on. They thought Audrey and Nolan's relationship was going great.
However, if George had a choice, he would naturally choose Shaun. After all, Shaun's identity was greater, and he would definitely become the head of the Baxters one day.
As for Nolan, although he had great medical skills, that was all he could seem to do. So, there was no way he could compare to the great Baxter family.
"Are you feeling shy, Audrey? Haha! It's alright. We have to announce our relationship eventually, so let's begin with your parents first. After all, we need to prevent them from worrying about you," Shaun said.
Then, Shaun said to George and Courtney with a smile, "Audrey and I are officially dating now. Mr. and Mrs. Weiss, you're not upset about me being Audrey's boyfriend, are you?"
When they heard that, there was no way they would oppose it.
They hurriedly waved their hands and said, "No way! Why would we be upset with that? After all, we're too happy about it! It's just that this is all too sudden, and we don't know how to react to it yet. Mr. Baxter, are you serious?"
Shaun nodded.
"Absolutely. If you don't believe me, you can ask Audrey about it." Then, he turned to Audrey and asked gently, "Aren't you happy, Audrey?"
They thought that he was joking. After all, Archie was an icon who led the Baxter family to greatness. Although he was getting older, he was still more than capable for his age.
If he were some random person, it would be normal for them to retire. They couldn't believe Archie would enjoy his retirement so quickly. It sounded like nonsense to them.
However, since Shaun was the one who said it, no one suspected him.
George looked at Shaun and stuttered, "M-Mr. Baxter, d-did you just say that Mr. Archie Baxter has retired?"
