Audrey would never believe that Megan would be nice enough to treat her to a meal. Since Jeanne had said so, Audrey could only join them for lunch to find out what Megan was up to.
At the same time, in the Baxter residence, Shaun had been awake the entire night. He could no longer still and started planning to kill Nolan.
"Nolan, you ask for it this time. You can't blame me. You even had the nerve to mess with Mr. Lynch. Even if I don't go after you, no one will let my family go."
At this moment, Shaun's sidekick carefully looked at him and said, "Mr. Baxter, Mr. Archie Baxter doesn't allow you to kill Nolan. Besides, he'll probably send someone to keep Nolan safe. What do you plan to do?"
Upon hearing that, Shaun scoffed and replied, "Of course, I know. I can't get my family involved in this. Things will be fine if Nolan dies.
"If he doesn't, I'll have to consider my dad's reputation. Hence, whether Nolan is dead or not, I need to ensure it has nothing to do with me and my family.
"I've got the top killer here in Bellington. By then, Nolan will be like a lamb to a slaughter without our protection. He will surely die."
Shaun's sidekick heard him and stared at him with admiration as he said, "Mr. Baxter, you're the Baxter family's savior. Unfortunately, we can't tell the others the truth, or else everyone will be grateful for you."
Shaun laughed at his reply and said, "I don't need them to thank me. Anyway, once Nolan is dead and the Baxter family gets away from this, I'll naturally be the head of the family. Everything else doesn't matter anymore by then.
"As for Nolan, how dare he look down on me and give me an attitude? He deserves it this time.
"Okay. Let's stop talking about all this. I'll go and stay by my dad's side now, in case something happens."
With that, Shaun went to look for Archie. He wanted to put on a good show in front of Archie, and at the same time, he could prevent others from suspecting him.
Meanwhile, Archie and Lincoln were chatting in the living room. Lincoln was slightly uneasy sitting in front of Archie. After all, he had secretly agreed to Shaun's action.
"Let's just wait a bit longer. He'll see it, and he'll surely throw a fit then. He's Mr. Lynch, after all. The people who messed with him all these years never made it out alive."
Archie smiled bitterly when he said that. He knew how terrifying Gregory was, but he had no other choice.
Just then, Lincoln hesitated for a while before he asked seriously, "Mr. Baxter, are we really taking Mr. Greene's side? Perhaps we can still stay out of this now, but I don't think we'll have the chance to do so if we wait a bit more.
"There's no turning back if we make a mistake now."
Archie nodded at his reply and let out a soft sigh. "I know where you're coming from, but it's time for our family to make a change.
"Although it seems like we have a bright future, danger is everywhere. Mr. Greene provides us with an opportunity. If we seize it, our family probably can have a new start and go further."
