The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 163

Robert did not hesitate for even a moment. He twisted his neck and left this world in a single motion.

The most terrifying part was that, after his death, there was no hint of resentment in his eyes—only a sense of relief. It was as if, in his final moments, he could not bring himself to blame anyone, only wanting to escape as quickly as possible.

He feared that if he lingered even a second longer, he would again face the excruciating pain he had just endured. Just this alone illustrated the unimaginable horrors he had experienced.

Nolan looked at Robert's gruesome body and sighed. "Why did you have to die? I had already let you go. How disappointing."

Archie and Lincoln swallowed hard, watching his composed demeanor. They realized they had underestimated him, not just in his abilities but also in his ruthlessness.

But now, Robert was dead, and it was pointless to discuss it further.

Archie cautiously addressed Nolan. "Mr. Greene, since Robert is dead, can we dispose of his body now?"

Upon hearing this, he nodded. "Did anyone record the situation just now?"

Archie and Lincoln were immediately taken aback. They hadn't even considered filming what had just happened.

Nolan expressed his regret. "What a shame. It was an incredible performance, and Mr. Lynch didn't see it. But it doesn't matter. He'll see it sooner or later or experience it himself.

"Take some pictures and send them to Mr. Lynch. Just tell him it's a little gift from me. Oh, don't forget to send the photos of the three hitmen's corpses too."

Gregory was a formidable figure, one of the most powerful bosses in the Eastern State's underworld. Could he swallow this insult? If he could, he wouldn't have achieved his current status.

Nolan looked at Archie and smiled faintly. "Do you think there's still room for negotiation?"

Lincoln quickly interjected, "Mr. Greene, there might be. As long as we communicate clearly with Mr. Lynch and even offer some concessions, I believe he will consider the consequences and won't make things difficult."

Upon hearing this, Nolan chuckled lightly. "You've misunderstood. I'm not talking about whether Mr. Lynch has room for negotiation or whether he'll be able to turn conflict into peace. I'm saying that there's no room for negotiation for me.

"I refuse to forgive him regarding this matter. Do you understand?"
