Archie and Lincoln exchanged a look, each seeing the fear mirrored in the other's eyes.
They knew Nolan was not one to be trifled with, and they were aware of his ruthlessness, but they had never seen this level of torment.
With a simple pill, he had transformed a person into something more akin to a monstrous wraith, writhing in agony that seemed straight out of hell. Just watching was unbearable. What Robert himself was experiencing was beyond imagination.
At that moment, Robert lay on the ground, rolling and scratching frantically, as if pain were the only way to ease his suffering.
"Let me go! I beg you! Let me go! I can't take it anymore. I really can't!"
He rolled on the ground, using every ounce of his strength, pleading with Nolan relentlessly.
At that moment, he no longer had a trace of his former bravado as he begged continuously, with tears of blood streaming from his eyes.
But Nolan remained calmly seated, watching as he writhed. His flesh was now torn and bloodied from his frantic scratching. Nolan's gaze held no sympathy—only cold indifference.
"Let you go? Mr. Thompson, this is disappointing. I thought you'd have more resolve. I didn't think you'd beg for mercy so soon. What's this supposed to mean?
"But don't worry. The effects of the 'Itchy Pill' are only beginning. When it reaches its peak, the real suffering starts. Take your time, Mr. Thompson. I promise it won't disappoint you."
By now, Robert had torn most of his skin to shreds, his body nearly devoid of any unscathed flesh. And yet, to Nolan, this was only the beginning?
He couldn't even pass out. He had to endure it all, fully conscious. It felt like he was trapped in a living hell.
Only when Robert's legs were stripped to the bone and his body was covered with nothing but tattered, bloodied flesh did Nolan finally wave his hand lightly.
No one could see exactly what he had done, but Robert's relentless itching slowly faded.
He lay on the ground, gasping heavily.
Archie and Lincoln thought Robert might finally beg for mercy, but instead, he did something that left them both stunned—he took his own life.
