Zachary couldn't help but laugh.
"Ethan, I won't despise you for trying to snatch my wife, but you're pulling such dirty tricks by putting on an act in front of me. Don't you find yourself disgusting?" Zachary taunted relentlessly.
Ethan's face was slightly red, but he still gathered his courage to retort, "I used to date Wendy, but we broke up on good terms. I've come back this time just to ease her burden!
"I'm not you. You exploited Wendy and leeched off her just because you're both married and you're her husband. If you truly adore and love Wendy, then you should help her in her career instead of throwing a tantrum and asking for a divorce when she's busy with work!
"Zachary, it's fine that you're not capable. But it's scary that you're deliberately getting in Wendy's way when you're incapable!"
Zachary was disgusted by Ethan's outrageous statements.
"Ethan, it sounds like you care about Wendy. In that case, why didn't you cut ties with her a long time ago?"
Zachary sneered and continued, "Wendy is a career woman. She doesn't know how to take care of herself. I've been doing the house chores for her this whole time.
"When she was sick, I was the one who went to buy medicine for her in the rain. When she had gastric pains, I was the one who took care of her diet every day. Do you mean to say that I got in her way for taking care of her?
"Since you care so much about Wendy, what's her favorite food? What food is Wendy allergic to? What medicine should she take when she has gastric pains?"
Ethan opened his mouth and couldn't utter a word.
Zachary wore a disdainful look. "You know nothing and only speak ill of me to Wendy. You only know how to sow discord between Wendy and me. Is this how you care about her?"
Ethan's expression changed drastically as he retorted, "No…"
"No?" Zachary narrowed his eyes, his gaze full of contempt.
"Don't you know how to keep your distance from someone of the opposite sex, especially when she's married? If you were really as good as you said, then why did you send me messages to brag about it when Wendy didn't go home for the night?
"Were you telling me not to worry when Wendy spent the night at your place? Hah! Did you think I wouldn't have any proof just because you'd unsent the photo? Didn't you know that I can screenshot and save the photos and messages you sent?"
Ethan's face fell when he heard Zachary's words. "You're accusing me! I don't even have your phone number. How did I send you any messages or photos?"
Ethan was guilty, and his eyes were darting around. His forehead was even beaded with cold sweat.
Zachary believed Wendy had noticed that too.
She had obviously sensed it, but she still defended Ethan on purpose and even humiliated Zachary with such vicious words.
Zachary laughed miserably and looked Wendy in her eyes. "Did you just say that you're disgusted by me because I've been doing nothing and I'm now using despicable means?"
"Was I wrong?" Wendy questioned through gritted teeth as she shot Zachary a furious look.
Zachary's eyes turned red. He held back his tears and said, "Yeah, you're right. Why don't you agree to divorce me then?"
Wendy's voice was icy. "Divorce means nothing. For now, I have to get everything in the company done. Once I'm done with all the tasks, I'll divorce you before you say anything!"
Zachary remained silent. He closed his eyes and tried his best to suppress his emotions. After he composed himself, he turned around and hailed a cab.
He said, "Wendy, I shouldn't have come to Yelbric to look for you back then!"
With that, Zachary got into the car and left.
