If she remembered right, this was one of the only five-star luxury hotels on the Isle of Veil. Not just anyone could get a room here, especially not when the whole island was locked down. Clearing out the entire place for themselves? That was something else.

And another thing… The manager hadn’t even bothered to check Anthony’s ID. In fact, he’d been downright respectful, almost deferential. That was definitely strange.

“Yeah.”

Anthony glanced down, catching Charlotte’s confused stare. He smiled, squeezed her waist gently, and asked, “We’ve got the top floor. Do you like it?”

“You’re not going to explain?” Charlotte kept her eyes on him, her lips parting as she waited for an answer.

“I bought the hotel before I even came to the Isle of Veil,” Anthony said, grinning as he led her toward the elevator.

Charlotte just blinked at him, completely stunned.

Jackson and Adonis traded wide-eyed looks, then turned to Hans. Hans nodded and quietly held up two fingers.

Adonis let out a low whistle. “Twenty million?”

“Two billion,” Hans replied calmly. “A whole year’s operating rights.”

All because Anthony knew Charlotte would be coming and going from the Isle of Veil a lot this year. On this island, money talked. And compared to a private house, a flashy hotel was actually safer.

The hotel usually made maybe ten million a year at best. But two billion…

Adonis clenched his fists, actually stomping his foot in frustration.

Once they got out of the elevator, Charlotte followed Anthony into the presidential suite without a word.

Jackson, Adonis, and Hans posted up at the door, pulling out their laptops and tapping away, running every security check they could think of.

Inside, Charlotte hopped up onto a table, legs swinging. Her eyes were bright and a little challenging as she looked at Anthony. “Two billion, for just one year?”
