The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 940

“What else?” Newell asked, looking genuinely puzzled.

“Anthony’s waiting to marry me, so I can’t let anything happen to me,” Charlotte replied. Her usual icy expression softened, a light and easy smile spreading across her face. “You’ll have to come to our wedding.”

Newell just stared, speechless.

Cedric’s lips twitched. He gave Newell a look, full of sympathy but completely at a loss. That felt like a punch straight to Newell’s heart.

“Alright,” Newell finally managed after a couple of seconds, forcing a small, lonely smile.

When Anthony got to the café, all he saw was Charlotte sitting by herself, calmly eating cake one bite at a time.

She spotted him, tall and handsome in his crisp suit, and arched an eyebrow. “You’re late. He already left.”

“Your mentor left?” Anthony frowned, a little frustrated. Changing clothes had made him late.

“Yeah. He said you stole me away. If he stayed, he might not be able to stop himself from punching you,” Charlotte said, nodding. She picked up a piece of cake with her fork and held it out to him, her eyes glinting with mischief. “Here, open your mouth.”

Anthony took the bite, still a little skeptical, watching her closely.

“Relax. You’ll see him again,” Charlotte said, setting her spoon down. She reached for his hand, slipped into his arms, and leaned against his chest. Her voice dropped, almost teasing. “Maybe at our wedding next year.”

Wait. Wedding?

Anthony’s eyes widened. He squeezed her hand, his voice suddenly a little shaky. “Lottie, did you just say our wedding?”
