"Charlotte!"
Realizing she was indirectly cursing him to an early grave because he talked too much, Vinson flared with anger.
"What?"
Charlotte kept her face perfectly neutral, waving a hand in a calming motion. She blinked, her tone dripping with mock sincerity. "At your age, getting angry really takes a toll on your life expectancy."
"Is this how disrespectful your students are?"
Unable to get the upper hand against Charlotte, Vinson shot a cold glare at Glenn. "Aren't you going to rein her in?"
"You saw it yourself. I can't control her."
Glenn took a sip of water to calm his nerves and gave a helpless shrug, lowering his voice. "How about this, Vinson? You discipline her for me."
"Don't worry, the Gates and Blair families won't play favorites." Seeing Vinson's ugly expression, Glenn added, "But Anthony has always been fiercely protective of his own. If you really cross a line with Charlotte..."
Glenn left the rest unsaid, but Vinson and the other board members caught his drift perfectly.
"Ahem." The executives who had been enjoying the show quickly stepped back, offering weak excuses. "We have business to attend to. We'll chat later."
With that, they practically bolted.
Charlotte alone was hard enough to deal with, let alone adding Anthony to the mix...
Did they have a death wish?
It wasn't worth losing their jobs—or their lives—just to watch some drama!
Vinson shot Charlotte one last glare, swallowing his furious retort. "Fine. Just wait and see," he gritted out.
"Vinson, whatever you do, don't let it raise your blood pressure..."
Glenn called out after him.
Vinson’s pace quickened, his blind rage nearly causing him to trip over his own feet.
Glenn couldn't hold back anymore and let out a loud bark of laughter.
Charlotte shot him a sideways glance, and he instantly sobered up, dropping his voice. "You are completely out of control."
"Just tell me you aren't enjoying this."
Charlotte countered, her lips twitching into a slight smirk.
Glenn paused, leaned in, and shielded his mouth with his hand. "Great job!"
Charlotte leaned lazily against the wall, taking a slow sip of her water, her eyes half-lidded and relaxed.
Hearing that name, Queenie's fingers curled into tight fists, but her face remained composed. She put on a haughty air. "Charlotte, I have to admire your courage."
"Knowing your opponent is Asclepius, yet still daring to accept the challenge."
Queenie stared at Charlotte’s breathtakingly gorgeous face, unable to fathom how someone so young and green could travel all the way to Apex and solve the problems that the International Medical Alliance couldn't even touch.
Word was that she was a rare medical prodigy.
She had authored multiple publications at such a young age.
Before Asclepius had emerged, The Cabinda University had invited her to be a guest lecturer.
After running into Charlotte earlier, Queenie had looked into her background.
She was indeed remarkable.
"Is that so?"
Charlotte swirled the water in her glass, her clear eyes gleaming with amusement, though the aura she projected was undeniably intimidating. "I admire your courage, too."
