The manager just stood there, frozen in place, his eyes wide as he stared at the group behind Franco.
Charlotte wore a black hoodie zipped all the way up, paired with matching straight-leg pants that made her legs look impossibly long. A hat and mask hid her face, but even so, she gave off this unmistakable vibe that said she wasn’t someone you wanted to mess with.
Was this really Franco’s daughter?
After Franco’s falling out with The Hawk Family, he’d never returned to the Isle of Veil. As far as anyone knew, he’d married a sickly woman, but no one had ever heard about a daughter. Was this for real?
“Lottie, you two go ahead,” Franco said quietly, his voice cool as he glanced at the manager, who still hadn’t moved an inch.
“Okay,” Charlotte answered, her tone calm. She took Anthony’s hand, and together they started walking forward.
When they reached the manager standing right in the middle of the path, Charlotte lifted her chin and looked up at him. Her voice was cold and clear. “Are you just going to stand there?”
The manager met her icy gaze, and something inside him just gave out. He quickly stepped aside without a word.
He believed it now. Charlotte really was Franco’s daughter. She was the rightful heir of The Hawk Family. If Franco took control again, she would be the future leader.
The manager wisely kept his mouth shut, standing respectfully to the side.
“Let’s go,” Anthony said softly, noticing how tense Charlotte was. He reached out and patted her gently on the head.
Charlotte glanced at him, then let Anthony lead her out of the terminal. The manager kept his head down, and the others followed in silence. No one dared to say another word as the group walked straight out of the airport and climbed into their waiting cars.
Only after the convoy disappeared did the manager finally snap out of it. He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and stammered, “Someone, let Allanson know... Franco’s back.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Wait.” The manager caught his subordinate by the arm. He swallowed hard and added, “Make sure they know Franco brought his daughter.”
After giving the order, the manager looked up at the foggy sky and let out a quiet sigh.
“The Isle of Veil is about to change.”
