The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1018

When Charlotte’s name came up, the department head’s eyes practically sparkled.

Wasn’t she that brilliant, unconventional talent everyone in the medical field whispered about? It was Cabinda University’s loss that she hadn’t joined earlier.

Right as Glenn finished saying this, he spotted a tall, slim figure walking in through the main doors.

“Charlotte, over here.”

He greeted her like she was a priceless find, hurrying to take her bag, grinning from ear to ear. “I was starting to think you wouldn’t show.”

Sure, he’d mastered the experiment too, but his technique could never match Charlotte’s. She was just so much more precise. If they were going to demonstrate for the students, everything had to be flawless.

Charlotte barely lifted her eyelids, then followed Glenn onto the stage. She glanced at the equipment on the table and asked quietly, “Are students supposed to watch up close?”

Glenn nodded. “We picked a few students for a closer look. That won’t throw you off, right?”

“It won’t,” Charlotte replied, her voice even, almost indifferent.

The experiment looked simple enough, but if your basics were shaky, or if you just didn’t get it, you would be completely lost.

Their conversation wrapped up just as the event was about to start. The room fell quiet. The seminar began.

Glenn started things off with a PowerPoint, explaining the science behind the experiment.

Charlotte didn’t bother sitting up on stage. She just grabbed a seat in the front row.

The second she sat down, her phone buzzed. It was a text from Kenneth.

Kenneth: I told Mom that Nora came back from the dead. Not only did she not believe me, she actually hit me. Twice.

Charlotte: ???

Kenneth: Then I said Nora’s not just alive, she’s coming back with her husband.
