The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 336

Abigail took a deep breath, and her gaze that had been on me since earlier turned sharp.

"Samuel, stop deceiving yourself. You keep judging me and questioning my intentions, but what about you? Haven't you also hurt my feelings recklessly and ignored me?"

Hearing her accusations, I couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of it.

My indifference toward her was built on the foundation of her repeated hurtful actions toward me. She couldn't see how she had humiliated me in the past. All she remembered was that I stopped caring about her, that I ignored her.

That was the way women were. They often lived in their own little bubble, blind to how others saw them and unwilling to acknowledge their views.

I shook my head and looked at her calmly, then said slowly, "Abigail, be honest with yourself. Are those words you said to me earlier considered a responsible thing to say?

"You didn't even care about my birthday. You promised me you'd come back, but did you? No, you secretly went off to be with Joshua to take care of him instead.

"We both know what's really going on between us. There's no need to air out our dirty laundry in front of everyone here. So, I'm begging you. Please don't use this to make things harder for me anymore, alright?"

After finishing my statement, I turned to leave. But just then, someone came up to me before I could take a step.

"Hey, Samuel! It's been a while!"

It was Frederick Larson, a junior manager in Blair's company.

Since I had written songs for Blair in the past, Frederick and I were acquainted with each other. Recognizing me, he had come over to say hello.

Frederick gave Abigail a glance, and a flicker of surprise crossed his face as he smiled and asked, "And this lady is…"

"Not only is he a homewrecker, but he has no notable work under his name, nor any talent. A clown like him should be banned outright, don't you think?"

The more Frederick spoke, the more Abigail's face darkened. Her expression was growing grim.

I chuckled helplessly and asked Frederick, "Were you looking for me? Why don't we talk over there instead?"

He looked at me, then nodded with a smile and said, "Sure thing. Let's go. This place feels so suffocating. It's like the air here is badly polluted!"

For a moment, I didn't know how to respond to his comment. All I could do was quickly pull him away.

Even after we were some distance away, I could still feel Abigail's burning glare on my back.
