The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 32

Abigail let out a dry laugh and didn't believe anything Sophia said at all. "Tell Samuel to come up with a better excuse if he's trying to deceive me."

When Sophia heard Abigail words, she panicked. She hurriedly said, "I'm not lying to you. Samuel—"

"That's enough!" Abigail interrupted Sophia with a cold tone without waiting for her to finish what she wanted to say.

"Hasn't he lied enough to me? Does he think I would fall for such a lame excuse and believe his lies?"

Sophia wanted to explain, but she heard Joshua's voice.

"Abigail, why don't you try this drink? I made it just for you."

Sophia froze. She was slightly stunned when she asked, "Are you with Joshua?"

"Of course! Otherwise, who else would you be expecting?"

Abigail's voice was cold as she scoffed, "Sophia, you used to be my assistant. Who gave you the guts to question me like this?"

The pale Sophia pleaded with a trembling voice, "I'm telling the truth. If you are not coming to sign the consent form, Samuel will probably die."

In the end, Sophia cried while begging Abigail.

In return, Abigail treated her with disdain and sneered. "Is that so? If that's the case, just let him die."

With that, Abigail mercilessly hung up the phone.

Sophia was consumed by fear and despair. Her face gradually became pale, and her hands trembled uncontrollably.

She gripped my hand and sobbed as she called out, "Samuel! You finally woke up! This is great!"

I stared at her in confusion and asked, "Why are you crying? What happened to me?"

Sophia sobbed while she responded, "Do you have any idea that you have been in a coma for a week?"

"Really?" I was dumbfounded, so I asked, "Why has it been so long?"

Sophia sighed and shook her head. "After the surgery, the doctor said you might not wake up again. I was scared. Fortunately, you have a strong will and it only took you a week to wake up."

I forced a smile and patted Sophia's hand. "Don't worry. I'm fine now."

Sophia wiped the tears on her face and said excitedly, "You are right. Dr. Blucas said the same thing! He said your surgery was a huge success, and it has provided significant contributions and scientific evidence to help understand the disease in the future. You are a hero!"
