The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 177

"Samuel, you should take a good hard look at all the things that you have done! Are you even a man? When Abigail was at her lowest, you didn't stay by her side. Now that she's rich, you came back for her money. Aren't you ashamed of yourself?" Joanna cursed and yelled at me.

I just looked at her indifferently and remained silent. After all, she would never know just how much I had given up for Abigail.

Abigail's success today was irrevocably tied to me.

Joanna didn't know, but even if I tried to explain it to her, she wouldn't believe my words anyway.

Before this, I had swallowed this bitter pill and kept silent about it for the sake of Abigail's future. Since I had already made this choice then, I should accept my fate. I had no other choice anyway.

Joanna cursed me out for a while before she finally felt satisfied. Only then did she leave smugly.

I looked at her retreating figure and couldn't help but feel that the entire situation was laughable. If not for Abigail's tolerance of Joshua and Joanna's antics, they wouldn't have dared to come and cause trouble for me.

Nonetheless, none of this was important anymore.

When I arrived home, Abigail was already home. She was sitting on the couch and looking at her phone with a blank expression on her face.

When she heard the sound of my opening the door to enter the house, she immediately looked up.

"You're back," she exclaimed.

When Abigail saw me, a spark of joy appeared in her eyes. She stood up and came to stand before me, helping me to take my coat off. She smiled as she asked, "Where did you go? You smell like perfume."

It was obvious that that sentence was meant as a warning for me.

Abigail had never been this patient with me before. She usually just yelled instructions and demands at me, like I was a pet dog she could command at her leisure.

This was my first time seeing this kind of attitude from her.

However, I didn't plan on wasting any more time on Abigail. I emotionlessly pushed her away and shook my head. "I don't feel like eating. I have no appetite."

If this was a time from before, Abigail would definitely become enraged and start yelling at me for rejecting her so many times. I had gone through this many times.

However, Abigail defied my expectations and didn't start yelling at me. Instead, she took my hand and started trying to convince me in a gentle tone. "Samuel, your health isn't at its best. How can you get better without eating properly? Be good and listen to me. I'll eat together with you, alright?"

Her hug felt just as sweet as the time when we had just gotten together as a couple.
