Abigail was stunned by my words, and her gaze dimmed for a moment before she apologized softly, "I'm sorry about Kayla."
I waved her off casually and replied in a low voice, "There's no need to apologize. Kayla's dead. She can't hear you anymore."
The atmosphere grew tense after Kayla was mentioned. Abigail hesitated for a moment, then went to her room and returned with a small black bag.
"Here, take this," she said, offering it to me.
I frowned, feeling confused. I didn't take it and instead asked, "What is it?"
"It's the deeds to a villa, two single-story houses, the keys to two cars, and a bank account with 80 million dollars in savings," Abigail replied calmly. "I'd like you to take care of these from now on."
"You want me to take care of these?" I asked, surprised. I couldn't help but laugh at how absurd it sounded. "So, you're saying I can just do whatever I want with your houses and money?"
Abigail didn't answer my question right away. Instead, she frowned and said, "Samuel, we're married. This is our shared property."
I shook my head lightly. "Forget it. You earned this money. It has nothing to do with me. You should give it to someone you trust more—like Joshua."
My words made Abigail's face darken. Her expression turned cold as she tossed the bag onto the coffee table and glared at me. "From now on, if you need anything, come to me. But there's one condition—you can't go out to work. You have to stay home and behave."
I scoffed and looked up at her. "Did Joshua tell you that?"
Abigail frowned and shook her head. "It doesn't matter who told me. Just do what I said."
Abigail looked at me coldly, her voice steady as she said, "I only have one request for you right now. I expect you to do what I say and not cause any trouble. Got it?"
I frowned and shook my head. "Why are you interfering with my job?"
Hearing this, Abigail's face grew even darker.
"Samuel, you'd better get this straight," she said. "I'm the CEO of a corporation worth over a hundred billion dollars, with daily cash flow in the millions. Our company accounts have at least ten billion dollars."
She paused and glared at me, then continued, "If you go out to work, people will think I'm broke and that I can't even support a man!"
