622.Chapter 622
“Alright, looks like I’ll have to wait till next time to earn your praise, sis,” Rafe said with a faint glimmer in his eyes before letting out a sigh.
Eliza didn’t respond to his comment and instead said, “We haven’t set a departure time yet, but we’ll be heading back to Hasen City soon. If you’re planning to come along, go pack your things and be ready to leave at any moment.”
“Got it. I do need to pack a few things,” Rafe replied, his expression turning serious
“By the way, sis, what are you and Prince Regent planning to do with Louisa?” Rafe suddenly asked.
Eliza turned to look at him. “Why do you want to know?”
Rafe grinned, his tone casual but unsettling. “Oh, I just have a little grudge against her. Thought it might be fun to turn her into a human pig. What do you think, sis?”
Eliza’s lips twitched in irritation. “Forget it. She’s being sent back to Hasen City with the rest of the Malone family. Whether she gets beheaded or flayed alive, that’s for the court to decide–not you.”
“Alright then,” Rafe said with a shrug, turning away with a disappointed look.
Eliza watched his thin figure retreat, her expression growing heavier.
‘This guy is dangerous. I am not sure if taking him to Hasen City is the right choice.‘
With Nolan overseeing operations, disaster relief and aid efforts in Woteria were handled with precision.
He deployed most of the ten thousand Black Flag soldiers to assist and supervise operations across Woteria’s county offices. Their arrival, accompanied by large shipments of grain, medicine, and other supplies, ensured cooperation from local officials.
Rafe scratched his head but decided not to press further. As they neared Hasen City, his curiosity got the better of him. “So, sis, what’s the Duke’s estate like? What’s my deadbeat dad like? Besides Anthony and Sophie, aren’t there three older brothers? Do you not get along with any of them?
“Come on, you can tell me! Don’t worry, I’m on your side. If there’s someone you’re close to, you better let me know. I’d hate to accidentally cause trouble for them.
“Alright, alright, if you don’t want to talk about the Duke’s estate, then tell me about Hasen City. I’ve never been there, and I hear it’s full of interesting people and stories. Oh, and isn’t there talk of you having a fiancé? What’s his deal?”
Rafe kept chattering away outside the carriage window, completely oblivious to how annoying he was. He really had a lot to
say.
Inside the carriage, Eliza’s patience snapped. Her forehead throbbed as she shouted, “Shut up!”
