The King Of Warriors novel (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6653

In less than half an hour, every cultivator on the second floor had taken Jared's passage to the third.

Then came the third floor.

The fourth.

The fifth.

Each time they reached a new floor, Jared did the same thing.

The old man raised his price every level.

Fifty became one hundred.

One hundred became two hundred.

Two hundred became four hundred.

Jared did not raise his price at all.

Thirty high-grade crystals.

That was it.

The route was quick, steady, and safe.

Word spread quickly through the crowd. By the time they reached the fifth floor, no one even considered paying the old man anymore.

No matter how grand the old voice made the next floor sound, no matter how rare the treasures were said to be, the cultivators simply gathered around Jared and waited.

When the silver gate opened, they paid thirty crystals and went through.

Simple.

Clean.

Much cheaper.

"Fellow cultivators, the fifth floor contains ancient arcane implements. Only two hundred high-grade crystals to enter."

No one moved.

"The sixth floor contains Golden Immortal Level Seven pills capable of loosening cultivation bottlenecks. Four hundred high-grade crystals, and the opportunity is yours."

Still no one responded.

"The seventh floor holds a Golden Immortal Level Eight cultivation art. I have hidden this treasure for many years and never shown it to outsiders. Eight hundred high-grade crystals. Miss this chance, and you may regret it for life."

Someone in the crowd burst out laughing.

"Eight hundred? Why not just rob us with a knife?"

"Exactly. Brother Jared only charges thirty. Eight hundred crystals is enough to follow him for more than twenty floors."

"Old man, your price is too ugly!"

The old voice stopped.

...

The seventh floor was an open grassland.

Rare spirit plants grew across the rolling field. Medicinal fragrance filled the air so thickly that even a single breath made spiritual power circulate more smoothly.

Under normal circumstances, everyone would have rushed out to gather herbs.

This time, no one bothered.

They all stayed around Jared, waiting for him to open the passage to the eighth floor.

Then a flash of white light appeared.

An old man stepped out in front of the crowd.

He wore a gray robe that had been washed until the color had nearly faded out. His back was slightly hunched, and his white hair hung messily around his face. At first glance, he looked exhausted, helpless, and wronged.

Only his eyes betrayed him.

Beneath the cloudy look, irritation and anger were burning.

He stared at Jared for several breaths. His lips twitched again and again before he finally forced out a sentence.

"Are you finished yet?"

Jared looked at him and smiled.

"Senior, is there a problem?"

"A problem?"

The old man's voice shot up. "I spent so much effort building this tower. I collected only a modest entrance fee. Then you came in and undercut me on every single floor.

"Now everyone is waiting for you. No one pays me. Tell me, how am I supposed to keep this business running?"

Jared's smile grew a little.

"Senior, I am only making things easier for everyone. You charge too much. I charge less. Naturally, they choose me. That is market competition."

"Market competition, my ass!"

The old man stomped so hard the grass beneath his foot shook. "This is malicious undercutting. You are destroying proper business order!"

The cultivators around them stared blankly for a moment.

Then laughter broke out.

So this was the tower's owner.

The whole time, Jared had been stealing business from the man who built the place.

"Hahaha, look at his face. He is furious."

"He deserves it. Who told him to charge that much?"

"Thirty crystals to climb seven floors. That is the best bargain I have had in years."

The more they laughed, the uglier the old man's face became.

At last, he took a deep breath and raised his hand.

An invisible wall dropped into place.

Jared and Gwendolyn were sealed inside it with the old man.

The barrier was transparent.

Everyone outside could still see them, but no sound passed through. When several cultivators rushed forward and struck it with their arcane tools, the barrier did not even ripple.

"What happened?"

"He trapped Brother Jared."

"Break it! Hurry!"

Several more cultivators attacked together.

It was useless.

A barrier cast by a Golden Immortal Level Eight expert was not something these cultivators could shake.

Inside the barrier, Jared looked at the old man calmly.

"Senior, did you want to speak in private?"
