**Chapter 1098**
Nathan’s gaze was locked onto Wanda, his expression a mixture of confusion and disbelief. “Uh… why don’t you just sleep in the middle, between us?” he proposed, his voice laced with uncertainty.
Wanda paused, her brow furrowing slightly as she contemplated the suggestion. “That doesn’t sound right,” she replied, her tone hesitant, as if weighing the implications of such an arrangement.
“See? Even you know it’s not a good idea. How are we supposed to have a baby with you here? Did Grandpa send you with instructions for us?” Nathan pressed, a hint of frustration creeping into his voice.
Wanda blinked, her eyes widening in realization. “You’re right. I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to sleep here. Well, good luck, then!” With that, she swiftly exited the room, leaving a palpable tension in the air.
Now, it was just Nathan and Ivy, the atmosphere shifting as they were left alone together.
“Grandpa’s watching, so we can only stay in one room. Are you okay with that?” Nathan asked, his voice steady but tinged with a hint of nervousness.
Ivy, shedding her white coat, revealed a fitted dress that accentuated her figure beautifully. She shook her head lightly, a small smile playing on her lips. “I’m fine with it,” she replied, her confidence shining through.
Nathan stole a glance at her, momentarily captivated by how the dress hugged her waist, enhancing her graceful silhouette. He quickly diverted his gaze, feeling a rush of warmth flood his cheeks. “I’ll take the couch tonight. You can have the bed,” he offered, trying to maintain a sense of propriety.
Ivy met his gaze, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Wanda might come in and check on us. Let’s just share the bed tonight,” she suggested, her tone casual yet daring.
Nathan was taken aback by her nonchalant acceptance of the situation. He shrugged, masking his surprise with a casual demeanor. “Well, since you insist, we’ll share the bed then. Do you want to shower first, or should I?” he asked, trying to keep the mood light.
“I still have to finish a jewelry design,” Ivy replied, her brow furrowing in concentration. “You go first.”
With a nod, Nathan made his way to the bathroom, turning on the shower. The sound of rushing water filled the space, creating a soothing backdrop as he attempted to collect his thoughts.
