Chapter 1058
The reporters buzzed with questions.
“So what’s really going on between Mr. Lane and that college girl?”
Warren held up a hand, trying to calm the crowd. “Everyone, please hold on and listen. I’m speaking for Mr. Lane here. He has no relationship with the college student named Sierra Fletcher. We hope these rumors will stop immediately. If anyone continues to spread false information, Lane Corporation’s legal team will collect all the evidence and will not hesitate to take action.”
Sierra let out a cold laugh. Warren’s statement sounded official, but it didn’t reveal anything new.
The reporters weren’t impressed.
“What is Mr. Lane playing at?” someone shouted. “He was supposed to hold a press conference, but now he’s not showing up.‘
Warren interrupted firmly, “Mr. Lane is really busy right now.”
A reporter pressed, “Busy with what?”
Martin, standing nearby, blurted out, “Mrs. Lane is here, so he’s busy keeping her company!”
Warren shot him a sharp look. “There are things you say and things you don’t say. Don’t you know
that?”
Martin stammered, “Sorry.”
Warren straightened his posture. “Alright, that concludes this press briefing. Thank you all for your time. You may disperse.”
With that, Warren led Martin away.
Martin had just let slip an important detail: Mrs. Lane was here.
But she wasn’t completely sure yet. After all, she hadn’t actually seen Halsey and Shaun. She needed to find out for herself.
“Why didn’t you answer my calls?” Zada asked, clearly worried.
Sierra held up her hands. “Sorry, my phone died. Did you need something?”
Zada frowned, concern in her voice. “I heard what happened. I heard there was some kind of incident with Mr. Lane at the clubhouse.”
Sierra’s voice trembled with indignation. “Yeah. I went to the clubhouse to bring Mr. Lane some hangover soup last night. He’d had a lot to drink, and then he tried to touch me, trying to take advantage of me.”
Zada’s eyes widened. “What? That doesn’t sound like him at all! He’s engaged to Halsey!”
Sierra squeezed out two tears. “He was drunk, reeking of alcohol. I know he’s Halsey’s fiancée, so I immediately refused him and ran out. Right outside, I ran into reporters, and they reported the whole thing!”
Zada had always had a good impression of Shaun, so she was shocked. “How could Mr. Lane do that? Halsey’s pregnant with his baby!”
